why do we need a professional, its just a copy of someone elses work any way, I would be looking more towards copyright infringement lawyers

This is why we voted to keep the old one.

We completed both, WooHoo, 54 caches from extreme SW Wisconsin up the Great River Road, then over towards Ladysmith and to Ashland to finish off the weekend just over 1000 miles.

now we have a question, is there a county chalenge cache for wisconsin??? and we tried to email cheeshead for the delorme chalenge , but the email wont go thru. anyone know the correct email?

in reply to: Delorme and County Chalenge #1891909

For Counties we have to get Rusk, Pierce, Peppin, Buffalo, Richland and Sauk

    Delorme Pages are 24,48, 58A, 59, 63, 73, 74, 85, 86, 95

ran it thru mapping program, it is a 1000 mile trip

Heading to Sauk county first and then working West then north

Why not just open it up and let everyone log the temps they find at the event on your multicache.

living in the northwoods, we don’t go out without DEET, so bugs are usually not a factor in our time, when we head somwhere we usually want to find as many there as possible, so we will spend some time trying to find them, but when we are in the land of micros (put city name here) we have a 5 minute rule, usually muggles are around and if you look like you are doing something unusual for more than 5 minutes, people start to wonder.

Besides our 5 minute micro rule, we will sometime spend 30 minutes or more looking for the cache

As posted earlier, Peninsula State Park is Technically north of Hwy 29, but come on now you are grasping at straws to fight to keep your events south by using this as an example, where we live in Mountain, Peninsula state park is only about 65 -70 miles away as the crow flies, but ANYONE who knows what our state looks like knows that if you live north of Hwy 29 you would have to go thru Green Bay to get there, that makes the trip now 140 miles to get there, Or i guess we could swim from Marinette and make the trip shorter.

As you all know by now, Val and I are big into geocaching in Michigan.

This is how Michigan Does there events The hold 3 per year. Spring camp out, Fall Fun Day and Winter Social.

There are 4 chapters in MiGO UP, Northern Lakes SW and SE

The camp out and Fall Fun day rotate thru the 4 chapters, so that every 2 years there is a event held in that area for sure

The winter social is usually held either in the SW or SE, just for logistics(Traveling in Winter in Northern Michigan is not the easiest), it is the largest gathering of the 3, the annual meeting is held at this event.

How about dividing the state up into chapters, In MiGO each chapter has a president and they sit on the BOD. We also have an Executive Committee (Treasurer, Sec, Pres and Vice of the entire org)

I could go alot deeper into this but you get the point I hope.

Maybe WGA should look into something like this having chapters or regions to help spread out the BOD and get more involvement locally.

Its getting to the point that we too are going to leave the WGA along with Hayward Cheesehead

Hayward, I think your idea of a UPWisconsinGA is great, but heck with that, how about just joining in with the UP chapter of MiGO, Me and Val are all ready members of MiGO and they have welcomed us with open arms, MiGO is more like a family, This is why we have not attended many events in Wisconsin. All the bickering and fighting, and worrying about the numbers and the temps. Hell with all that, Maybe next time my membership comes due to WGA Ill just let it lapse. Its not the drive time for us, its not that we are well off or anything, we are not, by any means. We go to events to meet people, laugh, have fun. This is why we are driving 10 hours to lower Michigan this weekend for the Lazy Hayes Days II event, GC1A092

Anyone who want to go to a event to just relax for the weekend come on over.

Other events we have coming up in the UP of Michigan Are:

    Fall Fun Day 2008 GC1C3T8 9/20/200 6th annual event
Presque Isle Park Event III GC1CQG0 8/23/2008

It still might be a bit of a drive, but once you attend a event in Michigan, you will realize how much more of a family this sports members are.

I have heard that people that take garlic pills or eat fresh garlic have natural tick repellent,

Thought it was just a joke but maybe worth a shot

We will be there also, there is a Earth cache about 15 miles away or so that is just over the Ohio border, so you can get a Earth cache and a new state at the same time, Kendalville has many caches in the area and some bigger cities not too far away, also lower michigan is just 15 -20 miles away too,

We usually try to trade Bugs and Coins 1 for 1 as we usually have about ten or so with us, but we only do this at bug hotels, and most times we trade everything out in a hotel, as we cache, we leave bugs in caches that have the room, and we do just grab TB’s or coins that are not in Hotels, when our Northwoods Bug Exchange was up and running (and will be again soon) we would have to refill it from time to time, usually we make a trip to Wausau, or Milwaukee, or sometimes another state and during a numbers run and will pick up bugs just to bring to the northwoods to get people out of their cars and walk past real trees and not light poles to find a cache, a bug or coin in there is sometimes the little push they need to walk that distance.

we are not against the 1 for 1 rule in hotels, They make it easy to trade bugs or coins when you have a small amount of time for caching and need to get rid of the ones you have been holding over a couple of weeks.

This is just our $.02 worth

Another GREY area, you shouldnt have to log your event as attended, it allready shows up in your stats in the cache hidden area, there it shows the events that you hosted.
