logging temps to us is a waste of server time and space, and think about it this way, if you are logging attended logs for each of the temps you find. Do you:

    1. come to the event and Sign the log book
    2. Go and find your first temp
    3. Come back to event and Sign the log again
    4. Go out and find your second temp
    5. Come back and sign the log again

REPEAT STEPS 4 AND 5 UNTIL YOU FIND ALL THE TEMPS UNTIL YOU ARE BLUE IN THE FACE

Yes it is a game, we play it our way, the way that 90% of the geocaching community has since 2000.

    ONE GC# = ONE LOG.

Also for some FYI we had a long chat with Raine at MWGB, soon multiple logging will be gone anyway, it is in the que to make it impossible to log caches more than once, it is not a priority, but he said it is going to happen.

Happy Holidays to all and enjoy the snow

just wanted to say congrats to all who are removing/not logging multiple finds anymore. (insert dead horse here) maybe we will start to attend some more Wisconsin events now.

Here is my opinion, ALL MICROS LEAK!

Nano, Bison, Film Can, Doesn’t Matter, They Leak.

Here is a idea, recycle all those small plastic containers, and go out and place a ammo box

Geocaching the northwoods 😀 where ammo boxes out number the micro

I agree with Dave, why must every container equal a smiley??

We as a team have decided to not log temps, and even try to avoid events with temps, everyone should attend a event up in the UP of michigan, NO TEMPS, just a few hours of chatting and coin trading, some door prizes, and some time before or after to hunt for the caches in the area that have REAL smileys attached to them.

We will be there, and will be camping, but look for us by the MiGo area (Michigan Geocachers)

in reply to: Coin Makers #1871178

We are ordering our coin later this year thru CoinsandPins.com They are two Michigan Geocachers (Rusty – the UP reviewer and Trippy. Both real nice people met with them at a event earlier this year and they seem like they are going to be great to work with

We think it is very funny

Why not bring this to a vote of the WGA Membership???

There should be a way that we can put a Pole Question on the Main page or a link to it like the COTM and just bring this to a vote.

Then we can put this forum topic to rest and then what the majority vote of the pole is that is how WGA should base their “official response”

All WGA sponsored events can then follow the majority vote.

Other events in Wisconsin should then also follow the recomendation of the WGA and follow inline along with the vote, even though it is up to the event planners to run it how they wish.

We have attended a couple of events in Wisconsin that had temp caches, we have done some of the caches at each event, but still only logged once and in the log said how many temporary caches we found.

We have also attended events in Michigan where the practice is to not log temporary caches, there was still a incentive to find the caches (prizes for most found, all found the fastest. etc)

I guess for us the events are more fun just enjoying the day talking with others, sharing coin collections, and the like.

So how about the pole idea????

We would have to make sure each member only votes once, (no sock puppet accounts etc.)

    Would this idea work?????

in reply to: So where are all those Green Jeeps… #1765543

Head to townsend WI, there is one nearby in a new cache.

Since we started geocaching we have found:

    11 Yellow Jeeps

    7 White Jeeps

6 Green Jeeps (2 Were Mailed to us, 3 were found in caches and one was traded for at an event)

Keep searching they will pop up, we just grabbed one today, and will be dropping it soon, Who knows where we will be heading this weekend gotta check the map and plan a destination.

We discover any TB’s that we can not help towards a goal, and would hope that anyone that finds one of ours would do the same.

If not for any reason other than this, It lets you know that your TB is still active, and in a cache somewhere, Sometimes we get worried when we know our TB is in a cache but no one puts into their logs that they saw it in the cache.
