The BCCC (Belle City Coffee Clutch) did their part down in Racine. I’m guessing there were at least 20 of us at 10:00 at “one to find on 10-10-10 and beyond” GC2G9AX. StarWarsGuy hosted with coffee cake, kringle and coffee (from Wilson’s) of course. I snuck out of work for it 😉

The crew from Racine will be bringing some milestoners to the event:

    I plan to hit 1500
tom k. will be hitting 1000
    StarWarsGuy will be hitting 700
    ruff54 will be hitting 600
    Team_Hankey will probably hit 1100
    Will SuperCacherMan reach 800?

We are thinking a MILESTONE GROUP PHOTO!!

I usually read them as I log them. I have them in a PQ before I go out and unless I am stuck, I don’t really read them until I get home.

This is what I do as well 😀

in reply to: Nuvi macro and GSAK help #1907042

Well it was not a problem with GSAK.
My CA Security Suite was having trouble updating so it wasn’t doing it’s job by protecting my computer and a virus got in and made it sick, which in turn was preventing the nuvi macro from running. So, after several phone calls to the CA Hotline the problem has finally been resolved, my PC is once again safe, healthy and protected. The best part is….MY NUVI MACRO WORKS AGAIN!!!
Thanks everyone for your help trying to help me resolve this problem! 😉

I have to highly recommend Dr. Doolittle’s Award Series Caches (GC1MW7M & GC1NXRH)
GEOJACC and I had a blast figuring out the puzzles and as much fun hunting the caches this past Sat. 😀
Well worth the trip to Germantown (25 cache day)
A ton of work went into this series on both the puzzles and hides ❗

ruff54 – I would like to have an option on PQs to cross-reference with unfound caches by another cacher. Now THAT would make life easy.

TE – A different icon for puzzles done on site verses ones that have to be done at home first.

DITTO to BOTH of these ideas!

Having virtuals back would also be nice.

Rather than screwing with your main database, try setting up a database with one or two caches and see if the program runs. My guess is that it will. I found this macro to be verrrrrry sloooooow, so you might be getting timeout issues, operating system issues, etc. Also, when macros work on one system and not another, it is often the case where “special” characters included in cache names or descriptions are causing the problem. (Not special characters like / ~ and ], but characters like £ Ø and þ) Try to make your starting database with very simple caches that aren’t likely to cause the problem. Then run it. If it fails on this, it is probably an install issue (firewall, VP, etc.). If it works, it is probably a data issue where the program can’t handle ONE cache in your DB. In that case, just keep adding them a few at a time until you locate the bad actor. Then, you get to yell at the macro owner for not supporting international characters (and of course, edit your version of the cache page to eliminate the problem and lock it so it doesn’t get changed by new queries.)

Incidentally, I do have version 7.5.1 if anyone wants a copy.

I’ll take a copy and give it a try

    Dave,

    Do you hire yourself out?
Kind of like the Geocachers version of Best Buys Geek Squad 😉

I feel like I’ve tried everything.
After loading the macro you suggest above with the same result I can’t figure out what the problem could be.
I even tried diabling my Firewall protection. That didn’t do it.
I am also working with Clyde (GSAK) as well to try to come up with a solution.
I feel like an idiot 😳
