This same thread was started in the Michigan forums today too, so it is not just Wisconsin that got it. I would assume they posted this in every gc forum they could find. I didn’t click any links, but I am kind of careful about going to pages that show up like this in forums.

That *was* a private email address to facilitate board business.
WOW! Seems it’s not the case any longer. I’m curious as to the reason that all BOD members weren’t aware that this was a “private” address…could it be another case of “lack of communication?”
BUZZ, BUZZ, Stir, Stir…

I think you mean…rabble, rabble, rabble
Not in Wisconsin, but definitely “up north”.

Heard one this weekend that made me smile. Stopped at a really unusual cache and some one said “At least this isn’t JASPITW”.
Apparantly JASPITW means “Just Another Stick Pile In The Woods”. Seemed appropriate for all the stick piles we had come across that day….
I would much rather find JASPITW than JALUMD….Just another lame urban micro driveby.

That being said, If I was to find it and verify it, can it also be logged as a find? Maybe that is for a reveiwer to answer.
I would log it as a find if it was the first time you found the cache, you did find it.
I really like Dave’s logo, it is very nice looking and not too “busy.”
Maybe you could have a competition to have members come up with logo designs and submit them to the eboard, giving you many options to choose from. You could maybe give a free t shirt with the new logo on it to the winner or something like that.
I asked this question in the MIGO forums a couple of months ago (well, close to this question, I asked about finding the final of a multi without finding all the stages) and it was overwhelming how many people said that if you find it you log it in these types of situations. Pretty much everything that has been said here were the same types of comments I was getting over there.

Congratulations, keep it up. 1000 is just around the corner.

I don’t know if this is a credit class or not, but my recollection of college classes is that they have no qualms about requiring supplies for classes, regardless of costs. I would think you could make the purchase of a GPS a prerequisite for the class without causing significant issues.
Nice…
A $100 lab fee. 😆
That is really not that bad, I had to spend $100 for a calculator that was required for a math class before.
MIGO has a very nice database of signature items that people submit when they find. It is made up mostly of items from Michigan, but there are some out of state teams on the list. In fact, there is a listing for the following teams from Wisconsin… house of brew, Snowgoose Two, Rubeeslpr, SS Bing, and Timberline Echoes. It is really pretty cool, you can check it out here…
Funny you should mention this, but NAVTEQ recently had a job opening for Wisconsin to drive around and GPS places for their databases. Maybe once they fill the position your maps will become a little bit better for the state. I always get a laugh reading logs for the ape cache in Illinois seeing how many people were autorouted to the wrong side of the water trying to get there. I always think it is funny, because I actually enjoy sitting down with my atlas and planning my own routes…I actually think that is a great part of the fun of caching! I am a map geek though…at least that is what they called those of us in the GIS department at college.

I tried to get permission from DeLorme to use their map, but they wouldn’t give it. This is the best one I could find, but the proportions aren’t exactly what the DeLorme map is, so the positioning is off in spots.
The cache placement map is more for “entertainment purposes only.”
Yeah, having a background in GIS I figured it was a scale issue(plotting points onto an unreferenced map), I just didn’t look at it that closely when i originally posted my question/concern….as before, my bad. I really like the website, it is very nicely done. I would be very proud of it if I were you!

Used golf balls are not a suitable trade item.
Yeah, why is it that people put these in caches? I bet I’ve done a dozen caches in my area that have had used golf balls in them. When I first started caching, I thought it was a joke, and then later thought it might be a sig item. Now, I’m just sick of seeing them.
Rusted bolts and rocks are also not good tradables.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a new sleeve of golf balls…I know that I go through them quick enough that I can always use more. 😉 😀

That web page is too cool. I did notice that it marks pages as found for Michigan caches. It might be something to look at.
Could you please send me an example?
Ok, upon further review, it does only have Wisconsin caches, it is just that they were being displayed as being in Michigan on my map page….
Notice pages 91 and 99a. Those were primarily what I was looking at. I didn’t notice that none of the other Iron Mountain caches we had done were not showing up. Now that I look at it closer, I can see that it is filtered down to only Wisconsin phsyical caches (I can see that the virt we found in Oconto is not there either). This was strictly a case of me opening my mouth before thinking. 😳
I still think that this is way cool, and that you have done a great job on it!
