I hide my own Easter eggs, and have trouble finding them.

Well said, zuma!.
We agree.

Powder Keg is doing well. She just started to get her playfulness back last night. Still a little cautious when she goes outside and loud noises in the area.
The dogs didn’t puncture her skin, but they did leave a scratch about 2 inches long and a dime size patch of hair was pulled out. Our vet felt she did not need to be seen just keep an eye on her.
Thank you to all of you for thoughts and caring about our geocaching puppy. I think she will be fine. Us on the other hand will take a while.

If you are ever in a pinch, cat tail fluff is a very good fire starter tinder.
But not if you have already used it as TP.

I tend to get very upset about loose dogs. I’m a road biker and have had dogs chase me a few times. Having a dog / dogs snap at my unprotected legs while I ride really sux.
And those dogs always chase you after a long, uphill climb!

I don’t mean to pick on pit bulls or pit bull owners. Was just stating the fact that, that was what they were. My (limited) understanding is that any dogs temperament is mostly related to their training. If a dog is raised in a kind and caring environment, that is what the dogs temperament will be. If however it is raised and taught to be mean and aggressive that is what it will be.I also believe that these dogs were bred to be fighters and you cannot train that completely out of them, it is their nature. My issue would be with irresponsible owners. What really raised an eyebrow is that the owner contacted the police and let them know the dogs had escaped. Did the owner know that they were a menace?

Okay – one more curious question: Have you marked a new waypoint with one of these Nuvi’s?
When you do this the new waypoint is saved in a different folder(?) so when you “delete all” of you waypoints for geocaching, the manually inputted waypoints are still saved.

So my question is…was it like this for all of you the first time, or am I just a little freaky?
We are all a little “freaky” welcome to the club

It was called “Strange Bird”.
THAT”S IT!!! Pink Flamingo threw me. Yup, that was ours.
We’ve been watching this thread and have had nothing significant to add. But with the prompting @Miata wrote:

we have had a brief pow-wow and cannot come up with any caches of ours named “Pink Flamingo.”
There are a few (one?) that we have submitted, and then unsubmitted/canceled/archived before publication but none with this name. Maybe there is an impostor out there?
We have experienced the phenomena that is written about here, but only on newly published caches that perhaps, because of timing we were notified but the cache was not officially published.
Hmmm, interesting thread. Here are my thoughts on the issue:

If they offer to reduce your points and even increase the fine a little, I might even make a counteroffer. Say maybe another twenty-five bucks for another point in reduction. The counteroffer would depend on my driving record and maybe muni court vs county. You wouldn’t want a counteroffer to appear like a bribe. You might have bigger problems then.
Woah! I have very limited experience in court (thanks God!) but I have never heard of this, buying your points back??? As furfool says it looks a little like bribery. On the other hand, the advice that you would take the points back and pay them their money makes sense. They will give you back anything but the money, that’s what they want anyway, as long as they know you have learned your lesson.
I think zuma! is right, you have your options: pay and be done with it, fight it and negotiate, and you might get some sort of reduction, or fight it and get off scott free if the police screw up. Unless you have to pay a court fee, you have a good chance of ending up with anything better that the first option.

One interesting thing about this situation is that my insurance company wanted to know if the other driver tried to avoid my oncoming battle ram. That has put some doubt into my thoughts about 100% at fault which I have claimed it was entirely my fault from the point of the accident. They never “saw” me (at a 4 way stop) which means that they were not paying enough attention either
I think the thought process here is: if the other party had not been there, the accident would not have taken place, therefore a portion of the fault lies with the other party simply for being there. Really, it is never 100% your fault.

I’ve never heard of Winne Cty doing anything unless you can positively prove you were not at fault or had some sort of mechanical failure.
Even then they could say that you failed to maintain you car properly.
Anyhow, those are my thoughts, hopefully I didn’t criticize anyone else’s thoughts/comments.

Good luck. That goes for me too.
XI submitted ours right after i saw this thread, we received our Bronze Earthcache Master pin in the mail on Thursday.
Wow, that was quick! Wasn’t it about two weeks ago when you hit 1800 in Door County?
Onward and upward to 2K!
