They seem to have the same features and the 60 is lighter and slightly smaller, so what are you getting for the extra $50? I’m currently using a little Garmin Etrex Yellow, so either of these would be quite a bit bigger, but I suspect that between the new technology and a better internal antenna, they would get significantly better reception in heavy cover.

Yeah, he took a quick look, but I think he assumed that I was the body he was looking for. I hope he doesn’t come back later to look for the cache (since I was at the wrong location).

OK, do you need to register at the beginning of each calendar year, or do you register on your membership “anniversary”?
This doesn’t only happen with Firefox, I see the same problem with IE. If you just click one of the “change zoom” buttons on the left, the map will then appear. I think this is actually a Mapquest issue, not a browser issue.
I found the definition of “Winter Unfriendly” today. I, like Greyhounder, will try virtually any cache in the snow. Today, I am down in Indianapolis visiting family, so I decided to drag out some of the family on a cache hunt. The first one was a typical woodlot, hollow fallen tree cache. So far, so good. The second one, called Rock and Roll, was in the landscaping at a roller rink (hey, I didn’t place it), and from the clues was in a fake rock. Thought it would be kind of neat to show the folks. Anyway, the location of the cache just happened to be where they plow all the snow when they clear the parking lot! So, now I have to look for a ground hide under 8 feet of frozen muck? I didn’t do a very good job of promoting geocaching with this one, I am afraid. While I dug in the snow, everyone else stood around and looked at me like I was crazy. Gave up after about 2 minutes. Oh well, got one find in Indiana, at least. Now, if I could just log on to GC.com…..

For me, it doesn’t have the attraction of geocaching. For me, geocaching isn’t JUST about the location, but also the cleverness of the hide, the mental and physical efforts to get there, and that feeling of discovery and exploration that I get on almost all caches. Somehow, determining the coordinates of my local McDonald’s (yes, this is an actual Waypointing category ) or an abandoned drive-in theater, won’t cut it for me. (You’ll notice I have no locationless caches in my profile ). That said, I am sure that others will really enjoy this activity. It just doesn’t appeal to me.
You know that you were very lucky with this one, Greyhounder. Had you taken just a few more minutes, someone from Hales Corners would have beaten you to the FTF!

Nope, I was hoping there would be an event while I am there, but there isn’t one. The name of this one caught my eye for obvious reasons.
