Great, John. I will have everyone contact you. Let’s try to get this wrapped up by December 7. Can you also send an email to the account to attempt to communicate with the family and let them know how this is progressing?
For everyone else, please contact Sloughfoot if you would like to participate in the project. If we can just put together a spreadsheet with the GC Code and handle of the person adopting, I can send that to GS and they will process. Note that if there are any listings that no one wants, we will just leave them in the field until they need maintenance as per the standard archiving process.

Sweet! That’s exactly what I was looking for. I don’t know why I didn’t find that when searching the store.
2 minutes of using it and I can already do everything I need. Perfect. Thanks!
Well, you do realize that using Mac is widely suspected to accelerate the Alzheimer’s process? Just sayin’….
It has been a while since I used an Iphone, but at that time, the only one I could recommend was the geocaching.com app.
I’m not a Mac User, but I checked with a buddy and he recommends iCaching, which I think is the spiritual successor to MacCaching. It is only 15 bucks, but I don’t think there is a trial option. Looking at the features, I suspect it would do everything you want. I don’t believe it has the expandability (macros) of GSAK, but I’m guessing most Mac users wouldn’t use that anyway.
There are power trails on the 400 trail, the Elroy Sparta Trail, and the Omaha trail.
GC49T4N
GC49RAV
GC4BT43Here is a driving power trail (yawn).
GC4A8ZBGotta check my schedule, but I might be game to try this one. Looks like a fun one.
I would also add that when using a cell phone for real urban caching (say downtown Chicago or Manhattan), your phone will be next to useless due to cover from the tall buildings. Even the Etrex’s will struggle in this scenario, but the higher end Garmin’s do ok.

Under a 1/4 mile is OK? You’re not getting “soft” now are you? 😉 😆
I’ve always been soft. Bec is the mean reviewer.
If you are moving it more than a quarter mile, you should be setting up a new page.

Permanently attached = Drilled into the tree beyond the very outer layer of bark.
Therefore, a fire tack or other push pin is ok.
A nail or screw not.
Wow! That is actually a very good answer. Another way of looking at it is, if I am standing there with a ranger who is demanding that the cache be removed, and I remove it, there should be no signs that it was ever there. The tiny hole made with a tack will heal almost instantly. I think we have all seen cases where people have drilled out trees, used screws and bolts to attach caches to trees, etc. This is considered defacement. A little while ago, someone drilled a 2″ diameter hole into the support beam of a sign for a business. Unfortuntately, the FTF of the cache was owner of the business, who was not amused. That one almost ended up in court.
Actually Hart Park is not part of Milwaukee County Parks. As far as I know, it is the only park of any size owned by Wauwatosa.
Becca, if you want to do something similar to a wherigo, without the pain, check out http://intercaching.com/intercache/
These are designed to run on the web browser of any location aware smartphone. They don’t quite have the power of the wherigo engine (yet), but I think you will find it an acceptable alternative.

Bank Heist was a fun cache for me, made more difficult my the face that I attempted it at 11:30 at night thinking I could still be FTF on that one. Patience grasshopper. I can’t let Rhinelander’s Ultimate Trackable Hotel not get mentioned here tho: http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4AJJC_rhinelanders-ultimate-trackable-hotel When I was in Rhinelander this past July, I was staying less than 300 feet away from this cache and ended up getting this one for Get Outdoors Day.
BTW, I’ve been having the worst time with Keys to Happiness #1 – http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4FB3Z_key-to-happiness-1 I got the first lock open, but I can’t get the second one open. Any hints anyone?

Bolt cutters?
Life is too short to waste time removing stickers.
I don’t think I ever buy my stickers before April, as nearly every property I visit is unattended on the weekends during the winter. The exception would be Lapham Peak, and most of the time I’m hiking into there along the IAT. As I’m driving my 18 year old truck which is only on its 3rd windshield, I have lots of old stickers, so I think I sometimes get a pass from the rangers. (unfortunately, it is starting to affect visibility with all the stickers…)
