Or a camo ball cap……
So far this looks great. I’d like to try and take on a mission but I haven’t found one of these yet so how does that verify if it is a DNF?, as in, it was removed by the owner or someone else and nothing was said.
That being said, If I was to find it and verify it, can it also be logged as a find? Maybe that is for a reveiwer to answer.
Holy cow, your catching up to me. But I’m not out with Marc, every weekend. Maybe I should be?
Congrats Benny,
The Gauntlet sure was fun wasn’t it. Don’t think I could have don it without you. Now onto 400.
Congrats Coastie, Keep up the hard work.
Congrats Marc, Glad I could be with you on just a FEW of those.
Well, It gave me an excuse to go spend time with the kids.
Those I would view as acceptable.
I couldn’t find it now but I recently saw a log a picture of the cache obviously in its hiding spot. That in my opinion is not acceptable. However your point on it stating that there may be spoilers in the logs is understood.
But when reading logs to see if the cache is worth the trip if you have limited time in an area and want to see the best in the area. A good hide could be ruined.

This is not a jab at anyone here but wow. I can’t believe the number of people so far that are against the photos.
I love seeing photos, in fact, I wish GC.com would automatically send notifications when someone attaches pictures to my caches!
Take pictures of the area! Take pictures of the kids digging through the container!
Just please don’t post close-up shots of the cache in its hiding spot.
That;s right up there with posting pictures of travel bugs showing the tag number.
Exactly what I was trying to say but probably worded better.
A while back we (Mom, Brother, Sister, and I)had bought a GPS for my Dad. While he was learning how to use it he had stumbled onto the GC.com site. HE had found a couple of caches and told me that some people were just crazy for doing this stuff. After a bit of explaining the sport to me I said take me along sometime. About 3 years later I got sick of waiting. I got a GAPS for Christmas and I have been crazy for it since. He has never logged a find on CG.com he was just interested in finding a couple I guess.
I don’t care about taking photos around the cache as I do it all the time. But putting photos of the actual hiding spot in the log is what I am against.
The point is that people take a lot of time to place a cache and hide it just the way they want. Then after it is published and the first finder takes a picture of the cache in the hiding spot. The next finder looks at the picture and says to himself,”find the hollow stump and take the bark off the top and I will have the find.” Rather than, “Hmmm look at all the possible spots where would I hide this cache?”
I kind of look at it as reading the last chapter of a mystery first.
I agree with you. Send them a note stating that they should save the thrill of the hunt for others to enjoy.
I have always felt that it was an unwritten rule not to give away the hide in any logs. Written or Photo.

Fu,
I’d love to try and get there but we have something going on that day. If I can swing it a trip up for the fun at night might be in order???
We’ll see.
Something tells me Marc had a bad day. 😆
