“Wacky inflatable arm-flailing tube man! Wacky inflatable arm-flailing tube man! Wacky inflatable arm-flailing tube man!” 😉
Everyone’s opinions have been well-reasoned and well thought out… but also pretty one-sided. Seeing as this may be the last time this is discussed, in all fairness I’d be interested in hearing a rebuttal from some of the people this would affect most. The last couple times this has come up, there has been some righteous indignation and some views from the moderates, but no balancing opinions.
Okay, first I apologize for derailing the thread with a bit of humor. You made a nice design Tyedyskeguy, and obviously that’s been overshadowed.
Second, I don’t see the second design as being at all productive, being antagonistic and having no real chance of being adopted and thus derailing the thread further. There is a current thread that is covering this topic extremely well.

Sorry the image is so grainy. I’ll re-do it when I have some time and post a better image. It reads “The 2008 WGA Campout You’re With Friends!” with the WGA logo at the bottom.
Are those film cans on the ends of those sticks?! 😉
By the way, nice job.
Congratulations Snoopy! Was it on the STS series? Followed your logs the day after you were there.

I’d steer away from the geocaching.com colors. Wasn’t there a logo similar to Dave’s proposed in jest a year or so ago with a spinning Wisconsin?
This one?

😯
Needs to be a little more busy, maybe with a flashing light on a gps.

maybe it could subliminally flash “GO CACHING” every couple cycles 😆
If it only flashed a little faster it might even induce seizures.
Now that I could see. The only state geocaching organization with a clinical warning. 😆
Congrats from us as well 8) . Halfway to the big kilo and the weather is only going to get nicer.

WOW!
(OK, Seth, the Minnesota DeLorme seems much more likely!)
Heh, heh. We’ll see what my imminent heir to all my junk has to say about that in a couple months. Hope to try this though.
This is a great idea, and it’s nice to see a relationship turn completely around like that. At the very least there will be an influx of cachers into the parks. I’m always appalled at the statistics I see about decreasing parks attendance while America develops a symbiotic relationship between behinds and couches. More space for me though…
Just look what you scamps get up to while people are away 😉 . Yep, Missouri’s in the can. We had a great vacation, and after completing the DeLorme we visited the KC zoo (great Africa exhibit), Pea Ridge battlefield in Arkansas, Shiloh battlefield in Tennessee, Corinth, MS and Mammoth Cave for a tour and a couple earthcaches. So not all caching…
Marie transformed during the vacation from a bump to really showing, but she’s made of iron. We only took the two-hour tour at Mammoth instead of the four and she proclaimed it just right. We’ve got about another month before the “go-bag” needs to be around at all times.
Yes gang, the baby is going to bring a shifting of gears, but look for the baby backpack and the off-road stroller on a trail near you in early summer. Hopefully he can adapt to us just as much as we adapt to him…
As for the gas and time commitment, it’s not as great as you think. We took a three day weekend and completed the northern half, and finished the southern half in five days with some sight-seeing mixed in. The DeLorme is definitely a commitment, but nothing crazy. Gas-wise, I think we put on about 2,000 miles. This fall’s return to the Lewis & Clark trail will be longer.
We need one more trip to complete the requirements for the Illinois DeLorme and then we are going to enjoy a breather. Minnesota is close, but really big, and within minutes of logging Missouri we had an offer from Glen of Rattling Crew to do the Kansas DeLorme. I believe BBQ was promised… We’ve had thoughts on other states as well, but we’re getting closer to being confined to vacations only, at which point you won’t hear so much from us about DeLormes.
Thanks everyone! It’s flattering you even noticed 😀 .
I’m truly sorry the campout falls around our due date, as I was looking forward to showing off my tried-and-true gasoline and sparklers method 😯 . Have fun and maybe the third Honeybunny will attend with us next year.
I will add our name to those who will only hunt those puzzles they have personally solved from this point forward. If logging a puzzle here or there that I didn’t solve myself is going to call into question the long hours I have spent banging my head on the hard walls of logic and the small forest of trees that have given their lives while seeking solutions, then I can do without. We have a ton of fun and some great memories from some of the puzzles we have solved and I don’t want anything to take away from that. Perhaps I’ll have something more eloquent to say on the subject later.
Congratulations guys!
As for the comment about transparency, this will be nice. I thought about posting, asking if we could at least get a quick synopsis of what happened at the meeting. To be honest if the minutes were posted my eyes would glaze over after page one, and a lot of people would have about the same level of interest. But some quick, to the point ideas of what’s going down would be great.
Congratulations to our new BOD lineup 8) . May the finds all flow like waters and the land managers find you charming.
You like me! You really like me!

Thanks everyone, the fun just keeps coming. We are blessed with so many friends from geocaching, and a lifetime of memories in a very short span.
Congratulations my friend, it was a good run. Pretty easy milestone cache, but it was in the middle of nowhere in pretty country and it was an FTF BABY!
