Congrats Mathman! Glad to see you could leave off of Rsplash long enough to go find a few!
Seriously though, it’s a wonderful milestone to pass. Bask in the glow for a while 😀 .
Congrats guys! Here you came down from Frostbite Falls and we weren’t able to make it 😥 . Hope to see you again soon.

I was naughty once and left a hard puzzle cache unlogged for a few days, to which I owe an apology to Seth.
No apology needed 😀 . That was a fun puzzle, and it’s funny, but once the FTF is logged, some of those country puzzles languish without finds for a while. ‘Sides, it made for a good chuckle when I opened the log book and saw your mark.
Due largely to Zuma’s FTF monomania (apologies Ralph, but it looks good on the page 😉 ) we have FTFs in five states. None of them got logged until we got home a day, two days or a few days later.
It’s really just a part of the FTF game. If you’re late by 10 seconds, you’re still late. If you decide to play the FTF game then that’s the risk you take. I’m pretty sure that most will log as soon as humanly possible, but life (and precious sleep ) gets in the way sometimes.
Even in the current heated atmosphere where FTF hunters abound, caches still sit for a day, a week or longer without being found. One of our first FTFs sat for a year without a find. We stumbled on one Sunday in Reedsburg that had gone a week (TFTC Uncle Dave 2).
Our opportunities have dwindled as we stay home instead of dashing out, but when the close ones are all snapped up there are still the remote ones that no one else went for the quick grab.
Good luck and have fun.
10/19/2007 at 1:26 pm in reply to: 2008 Wisconsin Geocaching Awards? – looking for opinions! #1880373I nominate Zuma for “Most Offensive Fouls”. He has broken multiple cachers iin the pursuit of a goal, most spectacularly Da Bloodhound.
You’ll be in our thoughts guys. Our chances to meet are so rare thanks to geography, but we’ve come away from every one of our encounters with a smile. Heal fast and heal well, we’ll be waiting for you 😀 !
Okay Linds, it goes this way. At the bottom of a post, it will give you the opportunity to click a button that will give a feedback point, or a pip. Then in your little sidebar with your avatar you’ll have a stat bar showing your feeback score. Just a silly way of showing who’s active and who’s providing structure to the conversations. A post counter pretty much does the same thing, but doesn’t have the “fun factor”.
Soooo…. If you made me laugh, or gave me something to chew on, I may give you positive feedback other than a post. Gives the lurkers something to do, and it’s anonymous for those who don’t want to speak up. Usually when you give a pip you can type a quick line of text explaining why, only visible to the poster.
Interesting?
Congrats Giz, it’s been a looong time since we’ve shared a cachemobile. Glad to see the disease continues to take its course. Big thumbs up, and hope to see you on the trails again soon.
This is a huge improvement. Honestly, the google maps had become next to useless for us in our home region. Too much clutter with found caches. I’ll have to go try it out. Thanks for the heads up!
Very nice! We look forward to it.
