This looks cool. I ran my finds through Fizzymagic’s parser once, and that was pretty cool, but this is much slicker. I’ll play with it later, but one thing I liked about Fizzymagic was the state by state count. Any plans for that here?

Basically, build it and they will come. Nice job.

Big ups from the Bunnies! See you on the trails soon!

Okay, may be wrong on this one, one of the greater experts can correct me, but City Select won’t work on the new “X” units. They changed the program code to match their dedicated in-car units. This is the reason that GSAK had problems loading waypoints to the new models. So you’ll have to get Navigator. Hope that’s helpful.

😀 . Great big ups from the Bunnies! Had a great time sharing the trails for some of those 500. That’s a pretty blistering pace. What’s next? If you keep hanging with the big dogs (and Jesse) I foresee millenium for Christmas!

Big ups from the bunnies. It’s been a pleasure sharing the trails with you. Maybe we can make a day of it some time.

Being a cacher in central Wisconsin isn’t as tough as it used to be and we’ve only been in it just over a year now. There are a lot of active teams in the area, you just have to seek them out.

We’ve cleaned out your area of caches long ago, but if you’d like to ride along on a caching day perhaps we can arrange something. We still have a lot south and east of Portage for example.

And remember. You are not alone .

We’re joining Marc and the Astro-Ds in Eau Claire that weekend, or we’d jump at the chance to return to Lone Rock. Maybe if a good handful visit, this one will make COTM finally. We visited after the tornado had been through, but the views are still spectacular. Have fun Coastie, there are a lot of fine caches over there.

Another tip of the hat to all of you. I too remember when we could get an FTF in central WI. Now we have to go sniping in the true boondocks to get them. Glad you’re all having as much fun as we are. And yes Marc, there are caches to come…

We had the pleasure to meet this foreman by trade when she whipped our sorry CITO crew into shape . Congratulations on 1,000 LJ! We’ll see you on the trails soon.

Awww! C’mon! Why do I get stuck with him?! Wait a minute… That’s one way to get him to do my favorite nasty swamp caches. Do you think he/it would melt ?

I’m confused. Is that 1,000 finds or 1,000 hides ? Big ups from the Bunnies Gizmo. Maybe we can go back to Big Krod to celebrate? The weather’s perfect!

It’s that season again already ? There were huge threads like this last year when event season began in earnest, and I have no doubt the topic will resurface next year at the same time.

GC.com has chosen not to take a hard stance on this subject, and thus we are left to make our choices on either side of the fence, and that decision is right or wrong only for us personally. We fell on the side of the fence to not log, which I find interesting on a personal level because my numbers ARE important to me. That’s a whole other subject. I could write reams of supposition on what makes me tick. Boooring!

I will say that we have only attended one event with temps since making the firm choice and we found it liberating to be able to sit and visit while others followed their muses and hunted caches. I did feel a bit of guilt that we didn’t hunt any of the temps and only focused on the permanent caches in the park. A lot of work goes into those temps and at LEAST 90% are logworthy if they were listed. Maybe more. Even with my decision, I think that temps should be loggable if you choose to.

Think of it in the terms of Catholics and Protestants. Here we all get along fine and coexist peacefully, even with our differences, yet elsewhere they’re at each others’ throats. Not to say that there aren’t zealots here who secretly know the other side are all going to hell .

Cache as you please. Do it the way you enjoy. If every server at GC melted down tomorrow and all the backups were eaten by the dog, what would those numbers mean anyway? It’s just a record of all the fun you’ve had. Although I’m secretly hoping for a trophy someday .

Make that One Paddle Short now. Name change. But congratulations nonetheless. And they’re putting out great caches too, including ones it’s rumored you need a canoe for…

Hey! Nobody gave me the key! I’ve had to make do with mud puddles and moistened towelettes. But seriously, welcome to the club!
