Okay, I guess in my first example I may have been inappropriately vague. I don’t want to name the cache(innocent until proven guilty), but the log thread starts with “the coffee can is laying in the open with nothing to cover it nearby” to “all we could find is a lid” to “the can is missing and it looks like there’s been development in the area”. This seems to be a pattern with this team’s caches, and I study them pretty often because they reresent 5 of my nearest 20 to home. I’ve e-mailed the owners once on one of their caches and they haven’t changed anything, and I e-mailed them again last night and I’m waiting for them to reply. I don’t want anyone to think I’m being rash, and really want to do this right. All I really want to do is go find some caches

Just wanted to say that if I don’t like a cache I vote with silence. Just abbreviations, etc. As for our friend of topic, if they enjoy caching this little, they will filter out of the sport and leave it to the enlightened remainder It is really hard sometimes to not ask why they skipped the great hide and put it under a pile of sticks in the relative open… But on the other hand they’ve also increased my cache count by one. If they put very little thought into it, they probably didn’t waste too much of my time anyway. I mean oh shucks, I had to walk through a city park to find it? Poor me! Oops, I just realized that the way this is worded, people may take it as a critique of the cache in question, but I didn’t even check the finder’s page. I would have no problem with this one the way it’s described. A quick in and out and on to the next one. Who got hurt by that? Be cool Honeybunny!

Just thought I’d stand up a little for the micros. My favorite. No “stuff” just sign the log. I did one last night that on its face was nothing but a hide next to a bridge on an itty bitty river in the middle of nowhere. I was the first finder in a year. A real CITO opportunity. But you know what? It was special to me because of memories of putting in here to paddle. So if you’re going to put one in a parking lot buck up and tell us why it’s special.

I’ve seen the same thing in my area. Someone came through a couple days ago and logged a few, especially Whistler Mounds, that I’ve wanted to do. They said they “knew” where they were supposed to be. Not fair play in my book. Now a question. We did Metamorphosis in Appleton. A quasi-virtual. Gizfinder gave us credit and we logged it. We had found it but didn’t turn it over. If we went back for the final reveal it would take 5 seconds. Literally. So is this kosher? I’ll do it anyway for my peace of mind, but what if I was out of state. Where do the lines blur or do they?
