We love meet and greets, my problem is that hubby works a lot and we now have 3 young kids so it’s hard for me to do them by myself and hiring a babysitter usually isn’t an option.

Speaking of beer, when’s the Point Brewery Fest thingy?

We’d love to but being pregnant and driving that far isn’t in our future. 🙁

Couldn’t you do about 5 TBs, each with ashes, and have them placed all over the world, then they need to be brought back to the Fox Valley area to a mosaleum, of your choice, so you can be “reunited” with yourself? Kinda like a barbie TB I’ve seen…

This should be it House of Brew

Those are both really good ideas. Maybe I’ll try to incorporate both of them. Now, to find a remote area…my basement might work.

in reply to: Seed caches #1741325

Seed caches have been placed so that more caches are “grown” from one. So, if I place a “seed” cache I might have pill bottles in the cache and you can take one. Before you can log it as a ‘find’ you need to place and have approved your own cache.

I’m trying to figure out a way for people to place caches of all sizes not just micros (as male Honeybunny puts it) “Christmas tree hides”. LOL

I like how TE lets you sign the log book for a find and then you get a bonus find for placing a cache without other restrictions, other than those already in place.

We have a 4 yr old (Kamilla) and an almost 2 yr old. I take them on almost every cache I do. I try to do level 3 or less difficulty with them…depending on what the conditions of the cache are.

Kamilla is a very curious child and I let her explore while caching. As long as I can see her, I don’t have a problem with her poking around, I even let her hold the GPSr and she navigates sometimes. Except for micros, she’s found most of regular caches we have found. I think it’s because they’re closer to the ground. LOL Heck the youngest one found one the other day! There was a cache we did that I needed her for.

Since we’ve only been to one CITO event that was for one day, how “micro cacher” friendly is this event? We have a four year old and by then a one year old. If you would like this off list e-mail me (Kari) at kartim AT charter DOT net. Thanks!

One of our greatest fears is running into the elusive Honeybunny while caching. We’ve discovered it’s home location but it seems to be all over the state. It moves quite quickly, sometimes without a sense of direction, it seems. We’ve also discovered that the male has found a female. Someday there could be little Honeybunnies hopping around. Oh, the Horror of it all!

Kari’s fear: caching alone and running into some moonshiners or some drug deal going down and get tortured and left to rot in the middle of the woods. Oh, and getting bit by something that I can’t take care of.

Tim’s fears: spiders or other creepy crawly things

Kamilla’s (4 yr old) fears: there not being any cool trade items and bees

Alivia’s (9 month old) fears: we leave her in the car

in reply to: Ban on Cemetary caches #1759593

I’m a cemetery person. Always have been. In High School and college I would go to a cemetery and do my homework.

I’ve only done a couple of cemetery caches and enjoyed them. I also enjoy the history you can find in cemeteries. There are a few groups that do headstone rubbings. While I enjoy doing that also, I think that is far worse than looking at a headstone, getting info and then finding a cache.

My favorite headstone inscription is: “I told you I was sick”. I found it years ago in Massachusetts.

I agree. We have a 4 year old and a baby. We try to do the ones that the 4 year old can participate in. Unfortunately, that means a lot of micros because of locations that can’t contain a “traditional” cache. Otherwise the caches are too difficult for her to get to safely.

I personally like the more difficult ones but can’t do them unless I find a babysitter for the day. Anyone want to donate to my cache cash for babysitters?

Too bad, the Green Circle in Stevens Point is only 24 miles long.
