Election shock is right.  Two races where I live went my way, and one was nervewracking.  Today I went in to cash in a winning lottery ticket and eat lunch across from Channel 5.  A reporter came in a few minutes after I sat down to eat, she recognized me from an interview she had conducted last night.

I like to cache in counties I haven’t cached in yet, but it looks like I was there in September.  If there’s anyone willing to put up with me at some point, let me know.  I’m in Green Bay.

I understand that GSAK has info on county borders, so creating a list of caches in each county certainly is much easier if that’s true.  Great job on the maps as well.

You don’t need an internet connection to get onto GSAK?  It seems that I’ve needed one whenever I’ve tried to open it up.  If that’s the case, that’s another big turnoff for me.

Boy did Groundspeak get it right.  I see they made an update where you can update the coords for every cache type, not just for multi’s and those pesky ?’s.  Another use for GSAK out the window.  Is there anything left that GSAK can do for me that the main website can’t?

Is it similar to other series where you have to do this for a final?  If you find such a series, I would rate the D/T as something similar.

I sure do get around to this part of the state.  Today’s recommendation comes in from Mosinee, a place called Smokehouse Barbecue.  The coords are N 44 47 357  W 089 42.528

And another recommendation for the North Central folks, Bear Paw on highway 55 just a few miles north of the reservation.  I had the pizza there tonight and it was well worth the trip there.  I had actually won a certificate there and one of the owners came out to congratulate me on that.  The cook even came out to see how the food was.  This was actually the first time I’ve had this happen.  The coords are N 45 09.056  W 088 41.618  Just look for the kayaks in the tree.

HI. Good question. Wisconsin DNR has an issue with being organized. You’ll find that signage and websites do not always line up. . .When I asked about that one, the state told me it was just a rec area so why list it as a SP? Good question. Lot Dauphin just outside DePere is another Property. Listed as a SP, giant rock is etched as a SP, owned and operated by the Town of Lawrence. AS long as it isn’t a SNA and the property staff has no issues with placement, then a cache can be placed there.Hope this helps. If not, let me know.

I found the cache at Lost Dauphin a little over a year ago.  In my research on this property at that time, I had found out that it had been a state park that had been turned over to the Town of Lawrence.  However, since that time, the property has been turned back over to the Wisconsin DNR – at least according to local property tax records.
