I remember seeing my first Where’s George bill back in 2001. I thought it was a virus, so I went to infect my dad’s computer. That backfired in grand fashion, the only thing that became infected was me. I’ve been doing that ever since, and that’s also how I got into Geocaching.

Apparently so. Earlier that same day, I even had a chance to tell the president of my credit union about Where’s George.

Here’s an interesting one for you all. I just logged into Where’s George and saw a window pop up with the following text:
“By using this website, you agree that we may set cookies and store your IP address for purposes such as customising content and enhancing user experience. We do not sell or distribute user data to anyone, ever.”
I went to the forums there and the webmaster says it’s legit and it’s something to do with a court ruling in the EU. Where’s George’s main audience is in the United States, and very little, if any, traffic in Europe. I would have thought I would have seen this on the main Geocaching website before Where’s George.

I know a place in Oregon where they could find plenty of qualifying people…
There are quite a few states in the south where they could easily find qualifying people.

I talked to my person I was supposed to see on Thursday morning, and it sounds like I don’t qualify for whatever it was they were looking for. Whatever that test was for, they needed to have someone who hasn’t seen a dentist in eight years or more and I just went a few months ago. While I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to help, I think it’s a good sign for my own oral health. At least I know that dentist is keeping up on what is really going on out there.

This is gonna be a fun Thursday morning. A friend of mine just asked me to help a friend of hers with an exam she has to take to become a dental hygienist. At least I see at that point if I qualify to help. Apparently there’s the matter of me getting paid $125 for my time if that happens, and I have a Saint Louis trip to pay for.
