Still hanging out in FL, some great people down here helped me celebrate my 1000th find at their GroundHog Day cache on Feb 2nd. (I uploaded a picture of the picnic group into my album)
I’ll be heading on back to the Orlando area to go to the Fl Campout on the 14-16th.
Thanks to those that emailed a support and congrats letter.. it’s always easier to read emails on the road and always nice to know I’m missed (grins)…

“Many of us can’t take the time to drive a couple hours to new concentrations of caches….”
(giggles) can’t take the time.. I HAVE to drive an hour to even find a single cache.. it’s not that I have an option.. sometimes it’s so sad to see that snagging even a cluster of 4-5 will take me a full day.. will enjoy getting back to Milw come spring.. til then.. I’m off spreading my caching-wings in the warmth.. but I’ve set up a few new caches this winter for any that wish to brave central Wisconsin.. as well as put “Winter-friendly” etc on some cache pages…
Enjoy!
~The Lil OtterI hope to get down to do your cache before I head to FL.. am also hoping you can keep this going after Christmas.. perhaps renaming it the Birthday Exchange cache? (grins) My b’day is in March so I’ll be back by then …

ps.. sorry about that hunter.. what a jerk to unwrap all the presents. He knew others were coming there by just checking the log book.. so there was no excuse for his behaviors at all.
As you can tell by my logs.. I had a great time doing these as well as embellishing on the tale (smiles)..
Yep.. one of my favorites too~The Lil Otter
Well I figured I’d post here that I have been upgrading all my cache pages this month.. these should be helpful to those that are looking for:
~Winter-friendly cache~
~Not in a Hunting Area~
~Hunting Allowed Here – Wear Blaze Orange in season~
~Roadside Interest~
~Bring a pen/pencil to sign the log~
~National Register of Historic Places~
etc.I also added the WGA logo as well as to add pictures to some cache pages..
Hope this helps..

Also, if a logo has been designed for the upcoming campout I could put that onto t-shirts, etc. These could be personalized too, if there is an interest.
I’d be very interested in a campout logo’d black fanny pack (grins)

~The Lil OtterWoo! Congrats! Now there’s a team that travels (grins).. hope you don’t drive to Nevada.. but then again.. others might not fear heights (smiles)
~The Lil OtterI was just considering a PDA (planning a 1-2 month trip to FL).. but realized that I’d be printing out each page anyways because of the personal memories and the notes I write upon each page.. Ever since I started caching.. I’ve printed them on a single page (some needed two).. I love looking at some of those crumpled/water stained sheets and remembering how fun/frustrating they were.. some I’ve even added my printout pictures on the back of the page.. it makes a very personalized scrapbook of my adventures..
What I did when I first started was to just print each of Wisconsin’s fact sheets without logs (kept in my Travel Binder).. even though they were not updated often.. those that were updated/not found/etc were the ones that I just returned to (after updating the sheet) upon my return.
It just seems like such a great way to store all my memories.. and I always take my GPS and binder everywhere I go.. so that I can just “notice” a cache nearby and if I have time.. can enjoy that side trip.
Now with less than 60 still undone in Wisconsin.. I found it easy to just print out Chicago’s and a bunch of the caches west of the Mississippi… it was sad to see my binder almost empty (grins) so I had to do it (smiles)..
I really have not had many caches that couldn’t be done without having logs along.. one I did really needed the logs on.. (The Three Ribs in Wausau.. someone had to move the last cache to a safer spot and the author never updated that info. I actually had the time to walk back to the second log location to add that ‘move’ into that logbook.. just incase another came along and didn’t realize that it was moved or actually read through the logs)
All in all.. I can’t see me even wishing to go hi-tek (PDA) or changing my system.. I can instantly find a cache page in my binder and be out of the car on the hunt within moments. And if using a few month old sheet didn’t work for me.. it always gave me a reason to return and enjoy the location all over again.. didn’t happen that often..
So, just starting.. I had every Wisconsin cache printed page and all Wisconsin waypoints loaded in my GPS… and I still do (grins)
Hope I made sense.. (grins)..

(wakes up from her semi-retirement in wintertime) Wot?? (grins) It’s not that I fear .. I just freeze easily..
Acutally I’ve been working on a massive stage night hunt that I’ve had in the back of my mind since summer.. finally found the perfect spot to do it in..(very quiet and dark as he..ck) Had Jeff Thorson out here to do a dry run..(when I thought I was finished) but it still needs a few fixes before I’ll put it up for all. And I didn’t even let him find the cache..poor frozen guy.. He thinks it should be rated a 4/3 (grins)..
Just wish I had that amazing mind of Badlatitude’s to torture you all moreso.. oops I didn’t say that (grins) but this is all I could think up.. besides.. I love the night.
I’m actually planning another Milw area cache hunt when I come down for Thanksgiving.. perhaps I’ll get to enjoy his cache twists once again before next spring.
