If you’re at 30,000 Ft. over Utah I think that you need a parachute more than a Garmin… 🙄 🙄 🙄
IMHO I would like to see a return of virts with some limitations of course… I’ve had a memorial in mind for as many years as I’ve been caching but the location doesn’t really support a traditional, mystery, or earthcache… I’ve been crossing my fingers that there would be a return to virts so that I can place one to a local fallen hero…

The 1000 cache highway series has just been archived. I am wondering how everybody feels about that. I personally didn’t like the idea of it so I am glad to see it go.
Me Too…
I hope that this could be the real deal as I’ve had an idea for a virtual that would pay tribute to Dr. Laurel Salton Clark who perished along with the other crew members of STS-107, but with the current ban on virtuals could never be placed… Maybe a virtual requirement similar to earthcache requirements would be the way to prevent “lame” virtuals???

Good suggestion NWTom. I had a roommate in college who was a trapper, and he took me out on his trap line many times, so I became familiar with the hardware involved. I made an attempt at trapping myself, but after catching a rabbit, a bluejay, a great-horned owl, and the neighbor’s cat, I gave up my trapping career. BTW, the cat and the owl both survived and had no serious injuries.
Kinda like the Bears. They think they are football players, but they really don’t know what they are doing.

😯 😯 If anyone comes looking for me… Tell them that I’ll be in the fallout shelter for the next day or so… 🙄 🙄
O.K. Time to take it to Off Topic…@TyeDyeSkyGuy wrote:
Mine seem to be working. I’ve been getting notifications of people doin my breakwater caches even though they’re disabled. Brave bunch!
I’m not sure where to go with this threadwise… But…
If a cache is seasonally disabled for safety reasons, (which “Match Head” is for obvious reasons), if people ignore safety disablements and put themselves in a predicament that requires emergency services, could that cast a negative light on our hobby among the public service departments???
Just a thought 🙄I’m just gonna’ try to make sure that I have a pulse when I wake up every morning 🙄
I’ve only a couple of EC finds but plan on many more, I echo zuma’s thoughts about being discouraged from hunting them due to the photo requirements as my camera is questionable at times and with the current job market a new one is a luxury… I think that that the percentage of armchair EC loggers is quite small and that they’re only cheating themselves, also any EC Master rank higher than bronze requires the creation of at least one EC so that isn’t much incentive for armchair logging…
All ya’ gotta’ do is bait the hook, and along comes a Pirate Monkey… DOH… 🙄
I see this going Off Topic…
Anybody know what a Snow Panker is???
C’mon us southerners gotta’ work together…
I only been to Hayward once… Ain’t nobody mentioned nuttin’ ’bout no Snow Panker 🙄 …
It may stand to clairify the issue by stating in the cache description that a cache MAY be available in winter but, “MAY NOT” be winter friendly…
What is available/not available and or friendly/not friendly to some, may not apply to others, within reason… But, there are always a few who go beyond reason… This also goes for winter parking… I placed several WSQs this fall in which I described some unusual parking spots, having not been to them in winter, I added that parking MAY NOT be available in winter and to use best judgement when seeking those caches… That’s all anyone can really do when publishing a cache…
I agree with all of the posts regarding the non-use of attributes, they’re there for a reason, use them, it’s that simple, and they’re simple to use… If I’m not sure of the presence of ticks, poison ivy, etc. that MAY be in season at one of my caches that I’ve placed out of season, say in early Spring, late Fall, or Winter, I’ll add those attributes to err on the side of caution… I don’t do it to discourage anyone, only to ensure their awareness of a possible/probable issue…
Oh… Well… ‘Nuff said… Time to Lurk the FTP’rs in the Off Topic Forum…DON’T FLAME ME ‘BRO!!!
I like it, but I have to wonder how much of our increased vehicle registration fee$ went into the design research???
If it ain’t broke why fix it???With all of the Clive Cussler fans here, we may be able to start a new “off topic” thread…
p.s.
To me, Cussler’s N.U.M.A. novels are second only to Clancy’s “actual” novels, not his supermarket Op Center/ Net Force/ Ghost Recon paperbacks… Yea? or Nay?… -
