Thank you all for your replies.
Truth be told I’d buy another Legend if it didn’t connect with a serial cable.
I purchased a serial to USB conversion cable when I bought our new laptop and the connection kept getting dropped making downloading waypoints a time consuming hit or miss chore.BTW, the street price on the HCX looks to be about $50 higher than the CX and doesn’t seem to come with a SD card. Nice looking unit though.
Thanks again everyone.
And I was just starting to clear the caches off my first search page…
I’ve done it, but had to hold the darn thing up against the window. Most uncomfortable. But it was still cool.
Ya, I tried Bob as well as Robert and Bobby but the thing just sneered at me and continued on its way.
My turn. I once got a call from my wife telling me she locked herself and the kids out of the house. She sat in the garage waiting the 30 minutes until I got home. I pulled into the driveway, got out of the car laughing at her brain fart… and promptly locked my own keys in the car.
That thread link does not answer the original question of why there are not more members.

Not everyone feels the need to sign up. You can still browse the forums without being a member and geocache without being a WGA member. What amazes me is that there is a relatively small amount of people who actually post to the forums.
Speaking for myself, I’ve never attended an event, never met a fellow geocacher (except for buying a used laptop from FlushingGrouse, still working thank you very much) but I’m still proud to be a WGA member.
But I think I should have gotten a WGA badge or at least a refrigerator magnet when I signed up.Ok…Any interest in a Monday or Tuesday event for those (read ME) unfortunate souls who can’t get a weekend off unless it involves a broken limb and gangrene??
Nicely done story presenting geocaching in a positive light. Well done!
Shows just how small geocaching was back then; Jeremy Irish was the one that archived that Sheboygan cache.
Google Toolbar has a wonderful, speedy spellcheck that I’ve used to my advantge on mor than one ocasion.
But then I’m infatuated with all things Google-y.
Best caching related software out there, IMHO. Well worth the donation.
Holy Cats! Next time you have a garage sale let me know. I love a good bargain!
I’ll be looking foward to several threads on how to use these gadgets, posted by the eventual winner.

I cut my geocaching teeth on Buxleys so it will be missed. GC.com’s maps blow, but Google’s are pretty cool. My Windows 98 computer crashes at work if I try to load Google Earth, so it’s at home I will surf. And thats probably a good thing.
I remember reading your first couple of cache logs (they were on my watch list) when you first started. Glad to see you hit this great milestone. (In the backround I’m gnashing my teeth.)
