I think I’m gonna tuck my tail and slink under a bush to die.
Thanks for the perspective change, I obviously needed it.
And while I’m at it, I’ll apologize for the terse cache log (I was feeling terse-y), and thank the hider for placing the cache.
I would be happy if I could only see my found count and not others.
Numbers make me schizophrenic. I gnash my teeth when a newbie passes me by in three months time. But strangely I don’t know why. If I cached differently than I do now, it would seem more like a contest. And that is not why I cache. But if the prize for Top Finder in Wisconsin is a cool crown, or maybe a shiny button, I’d be willing to change my ways.
Me thinks lame is in the eye of the beholder.
A couple days ago my son and I had some rare time together and he wanted to go caching. Drove 15 minutes to a great park with some excellant hiking potential. Cache was found within 350 ft. from the parking lot. A month or so ago we went to this same park and that cache was on the other side of the same parking lot. I could have leaned out my car door to retrieve it.In my mind these were both “lame”. There was no adventure, no hiking, no challenge. In the mind of others, these were both nice, easy finds.
I can think of more than a couple of caches that were not more than a couple hundred feet from my car that I would consider “lame”. However the cache that I did that was at an artesian well was right next to the parking area. I enjoyed that cache because of the attraction that it was high-lighting.
I would enjoy a five mile hike through the woods for a plainly hidden cache. Others, not so much perhaps. To each his own.
Bump ’cause I think this is pretty cool!!
Cool pic!! Congrats on the fine prize!
A great piece! Well presented and informative. Thanks for showing us in a good light!
I had a heck of a time with this one last year. Ended up going back to hotel which provided a computer that let me check previous logs. That helped somewhat. I remember there were numbers spray painted on a tree. I spent much time trying to decipher those numbers before I realized that werent it.
I know I’m not helping, but I know how you feel. Good luck.Congrats guys!! Nice photos.
She’s really close to the ground so she should have no problem finding caches.
Am I gonna have to look under all those tree skirts again??
I’ve been contemplating placing a couple caches for a while now. Got the ammo cans and the area to place them narrowed down.
It’s funny, but I thought I’d need them to be elaborate, jump on one foot while patting your head type of searches with multiple stages. There are so many local cachers with large (to me) amounts of finds, I figured the last thing they’d want to hunt for is a “simple” single stage cache.
But I’d be more than willing to place a nice single stage cache if that’s the prevailing preference.
Lol, I live in the unzoom-able (is that a word?) part of the state.
Sometimes its best to fly under the radar.
(I suspect not a popular idea around here)
Did you ask him what was up with Buxley’s maps??
Just kidding! (I’m sure he’s tired of talking about it anyway)
Perhaps I’ve led a sheltered life, but that is about the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!
I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain City Select isn’t supported by the eTrex Legend unless you have the Legendc (color version)
