I’ve only starting geocaching just this past April. So I’ve yet to experience winter caching.

What is geocaching like when there are several inches of snow on the ground? How difficult is it?

    .

I preferred finding caches this past winter than this summer, less finds for me but so much more fun.

I for one am happy there is only 1 place to go, I looked at letterboxing and all the sites and lost interest quickly because there were multiple sites.

For me, Geocaching kit = Boots, GPS, Compass, trail.

Nice Dave, but we prefer it when you cache wearing more than just your boots.

Maybe so, but I sweat less that way.

this made me think of the naked caching log on here GC1XFQ0

I downgraded the software and gps firmware to the 2.802.80 version after reading lots of forums and my reception in heavy cover got amazingly better.

I went from +- 64 feet in heavy cover to +- 15 feet in the same cover within an hour of walking the same trail this morning, SOOOOO much better

Santa Clara – Closest to the cache on Alcatraz.

Hmm, I might have to look for that one… GCF7A2. I will be in Santa Clara while attending a training class at a “major Silicon Valley technology company” in a few weeks.

That company wouldnt happen to start with an H would it? That is why I asked to help make my training decisions, but my boss decided for me, go to first available class. So I am there for training on the 28th to 2nd.

If you are there during the same time we could do some post training caching!

in reply to: Do you like to watch? #1914060

8 on my watchlist, some of the first trackables I found just to watch where they go, and DNF’s go on, so I can go looking if maint is done or someone else finds them.

    That is impressive, congratulations!
