    Bridges and bus stops…..

I thought bridges were off limits.

I have found lots of caches under foot bridges, I think its just car bridges that arent allowed.

My least favorite type have to be park shelter hides when they use those tiny little blinkies.

GSAK will do it for you, that is what I use.

I cant remember off the top of my head, but it might be the findstatgen macro you run to get counties.

as a greater La Crosse area resident, I would say if you want to come here to do caches, spend a day on goose island but bring bucket fulls of deet for the bugs, if you want to bike, the bike trail on the mississippi isnt that great for caches, the la crosse to sparta trail has better caches on it but it is not a power trail by any means, check out west salem while you are on that trail. If you like hiking, Hixton Forest and the Human powered trails above have beautiful hiking and enough caches to keep you busy for a day. A night cache that got nominated for cache of the month GC27031 it is mine but it needs more visitors 🙂

Trekkin and Birdin I am sure can make more suggestions.

I have a river in my basement which is very annoying, and I can’t get to a couple caches I own that I need to move because the water crossing to get to them is to dangerous right now because of how fast the water is going, so yes, I am sick of this also.

Not necessarily any “tricks” but it appears to be using some “scripting” to hide / show certain blocks of HTML. I’ve sent the users an email asking how he did it. It definately appears to be generated code, so I’m assuming there’s a piece of software out there that generates this. I’ll post more if / when I hear back.

its a technique called sliding door page generation. But for the life of me I cant figure out how he is doing it without using java

Zoom into the area you want, then click on the identify button on the top and it will give you the latlon of the spot you clicked, this will be very helpful to me. In my case, this is the info the identify button gives me.

I have a new hide I am going to go hide tomorrow, that I had to wait for the DNR form to get back to me cause it was close enough on the border of SNA and DNR land I didnt want to chance it. It took about 2 weeks for me to get it back, which is about normal for the 10 or so forms I have sent in.

With an possible SNA in the mix, you are correct to get acknowledgment first.

Just an updateFYI on this one, this cache ended up actually being in the SNA and the reviewer caught it and showed me a better map to use. So the DNR signed off on it in a SNA, so i suspect maybe they dont really check the coords? Anyway I will happily go move it out of the SNA now that I have been directed to a good map that i can get gps coords out of that show me the SNA boundries. Ahh the joys of trying to hide a cache in a cool area surrounded by SNA’s

I just placed my first one not to long ago, and the biggest thing I found was, that I did it myself 3 times before I posted it, and tweaked stuff every time till I was happy with it. If I would have released it after my initial placement, I dont think it would have been as good.

Am I better off trying to drive in and find a place to park, or parking at a train station and taking the train in?
