The food request is coming from people who are working at the event .. had to juggle volunteers to cover so we could leave to eat ..

Ah, noted. Yes, I think something can probably be arranged for the volunteers. I’ll bring that up.

Great suggestions, everyone. Keep them coming!

I’ll keep updating the committee on all of the ideas and comments.

    FOOD AT THE VENUE!!!

I understand that the chamber wants us to visit the area restaurants that are part of the chamber, but there needs to be something of nutritional value available at the park.

MWGB has food vendors similar to what you would find at a county fair come directly to the venue, when we were done caching, if we knew there was nothing to eat at the park, we would have stopped and grabbed something before we headed back.

I agree, but unfortunately, this will never happen. We’ve tried. The Chamber director is very firm that he wants people to spend money in the community. I guess I’ll just have to make it clear on the cache page that only “snacks” are available at the park. Sorry.

    Awesome. Congrats!

It was really great to see everyone having a good time despite the occasional burst of rain.

I’m also having fun reading all the logs from the event and my own local cache hides.

Let the event committee know if you have comments of praise or specific suggestions for improvement so that we can continue to make each Ba$h a fun event for all! I read all the comments (good and bad) and pass them on to the Chamber and committee. We take everything into consideration and make decisions based on your collective likes and dislikes.

    Looking forward to 2012,

Is this part of the WGA Booth or something separate? Should I be adding this to the event page? (I’m in charge of updating the cache page and schedule of events and I didn’t know about this until I just read your forum post just now.) Maybe send me a message with any info I should know. Thanks.

I will just make my bookmark list public and add it to the cache page once they are published. (It would do no good to add it before publication, as it would not work correctly.)

    Cool. Thanks, Deejay

Ooopsies…. I just remembered I have to work Thursday night…. I’m happy to make a Bookmark List of the caches from work, but depending on how busy it is, it might not be ready exactly when they’re published… It may take an hour or two.

I wish I could make a Bookmark list ahead of time, but the caches have to be published in order to add them.

It may be delayed, but it will get added.

in reply to: Goody Bag? #1951550

I’m pretty sure every team will get a bag…. but the late bags might not have a lot of local business “goodies” in it though. Just the Cache Ba$h essentials.

I haven’t seen how much was donated by businesses, so it’s hard to say.

I think I accidentally deleted the section of the cache page that said the first 250 early registration teams get the best goody bags…. but I think I deleted it after 250 teams were already signed up…. So if you signed up early, you might still be in the special goody bag section.

    Welcome!

Some cachers will just do what they want… can’t help that…

But others just don’t know any better… monkey see, monkey do.

Here’s an idea: Maybe somebody in the WGA can make an information posterboard about Caching Etiquette to display at the Cache Ba$h. You’ll reach hundreds of teams.

I made one about Trackables that I’m displaying this year at the Trackable Station. I’m hoping and praying it will help new cachers understand Geocoins and Travel Bugs and help decrease the number of missing trackables…

I’d make the Etiquette one too, but I just don’t have the time this year….

Cool…. it’s great to have willing experienced cachers helping out. You may want to check the “Note board” at the park when you arrive to see if any newbie cachers left notes about wanting a buddy or assistance.

in reply to: WGA West Bend Cache Ba$h Weekend Photo Contest #1951120

I wonder how many people are actually reading these various contests and things….

in reply to: 2011 event caches #1951499

Yes, we can put the GPX file on the cache page… or I can make a bookmark list. Don’t worry… something will be available.

in reply to: West Bend pathtags have arrived #1951052

Sorry… I haven’t been looking at the WGA forums lately…

Would you like me to advertise the pathtag on the Cache Ba$h event page? (Like maybe in the paragraph about the WGA Booth?)

Or just let it be for anyone who reads this forum or happens upon it?
