It’s official. The Yellow Brick Road series will be archived at the end of December, 2018. So sez the mighty Wizard. Will see if Elton John is right…if there is life beyond the Yellow Brick Road.
I am honored that the Yellow Brick Road should define the Land of OC (Oconto County). Welcome all who enter here…it’s a magical realm filled with enchanting cachesΒ π
I ventured down my magical road again today for fall maintenance. Although many areas to the north and west are starting to flash their autumn colors, the Yellow Brick Road is a week or two away from that yet. But the wonderful aromas of the season are in the air π
I rode my bicycle down the Yellow Brick Road today to complete my spring maintenance. Most weathered the winter well but there were a few exceptions. All look good for the season now. The recent rains have left quite a bit of standing water in the area near the Highway 22 entrance but I didn’t get my feet wet checking any of my caches. I can see where this might be mosquito breeding heaven at some point but I didn’t see a single mosquito in the last week nor find any ticks. The wildflowers are in full bloom right now…I love spring π
No need to go so far! The Yellow Brick Road has everything you desire π
My magic is confined to Oconto County…sorry.
The great and powerful wizard spent this glorious weekend doing spring maintenance along the Yellow Brick Road. I enjoyed the frog chorus along one stretch, flushed a huge tom turkey in another, and heard the distant drumming of grouse on several occasions. It appears that in the next week or so, there will be a profusion of wildflowers. And best of all, there were no bugs! All 35 caches are ready for the season π
