I am ready for winter. Hopefully I can get out an snowshoe and geocache this winter. I like the idea of walking in the woods without bugs.

    ditto!

I love the snow, but John hates it. The cold winter freezes the water to some caches I’d normally not be able to reach either. Love that!

hmmm…yes, the real difference between me and my husband when we cache. 😀 I’m the cacher. Bugs, what bugs? ha, ha. I get home…look at all them bug bites. Yikes.

most of the time John tags along with me. sometimes I do it by myself. my cousin loves geocaching, but she lives in California or else I’m sure we’d get together more and do this together.

in reply to: What kind of GPSr do you use? #1887968

We have a Garmin 60CSx. We bought it second hand from my step-dad. It’s come in handy for a lot more than geocaching, though, once we bought a map of all the roads in the states.

    that is cool. 🙂

I heard he was in town…but that seems like a stretch…

    I heard Will Wheaton geocaches.

ha, ha…we’ve probably scared a few golfers too. 😀

My favorite is definitely Catch Me if You Can (GCQWMR). It was when we were still very new to geocaching. And our first cache that involved crossing water somehow. Only we didn’t know that until we got there.

We parked in a place I’m sure we weren’t supposed to park 8O, thankfully the person did not complain. In fact, everyone we met (almost) was super nice. We followed the arrow and noticed a nice little lsland out on Lake Noquebay. Hmmm…must be where it is. How do we get there. We asked someone that was getting ready to go out on his boat. No do. Then a guy asked what we were doing. We explained. He said you can use my paddle boat. Awesome! So we paddled our way out there, found the cache, and signed the log.

    It was a blast.

ha, ha…have to agree with Kbraband. Although, my husband does not like multi-caches. He thinks you should get credit for each cache you end up having to find. 😆

thanks for all the different perspectives and ideas.

thinking of ammo boxes…does anyone go to Sherper’s?

it is hard! I’m still trying to figure out the coordinates…dang it. 😀 But I really love the series. Glad you are doing it!
