Good morning, everyone. I’m thinking of going to Illinois next month and explore some state parks, but don’t know where to go.
Has anyone here geocached at any Illinois state parks?
Website seems ultra slow today. No issues with any other ones I used. Anyone else experience this?
It always has been slow long as I can remember. It actually took me 5 minutes just to load this site on my phone and then post this reply. One of the reasons why I stopped visiting this site.
Welcome back Todd! Quite a few new caches in the Twin Cities since you were last hunting for them!
Yup. I found four of those. Two others are disabled. A 3rd appears to be active, but an NM log was posted there, so I’m waiting on that one as well.
Other than the Mighty M, which is a T5, I already found everything in the M & M area. Just a matter of waiting for those other 3 caches to be activated.

1219 pages in this thread, Quite a bit of activity since my last visit here.
I just got back into the game after a 520+ days geo slump with four finds this week. Ha, it took me a bit to find the first one of those four even though it was only a D2, but then my geo senses took over and I found it. The rest were easy as pie. Looking forward to finding more difficult ones and really earn that find.
Looking forward to hitting the trails again now that I’ve gotten bit by the geo bug again. And how’s everyone doing?

Question, could one realistically find all the caches on Mackinac Island in one day?
I wasn’t gonna get them all. Just a few to start with so I have a reason to go back. I like taking my time and seeing the sights too .
Glad I didn’t book a hotel. I went to the Strait State Park first with the plan of going to another park across the bridge, then hit Mackinac tomorrow.
I was gonna look for a hotel when I got done caching. As it turns out, I ended up like, f*** it, let’s go home.
I won’t return there this fall. Too much construction on M 35 and US 2 with like 4 or 5 “one lanes” that I had to stop at plus a 3 mile detour around the Cut River Bridge.
I could have just stayed and visited attractions, but I was upset at leaving my GPS unit behind that I just left .
At least I get to watch the Brewers tonight on TV. I wouldn’t be able to see the game at the hotel because they wouldn’t have Fox Sports Wisconsin. So there’s that .
Nothing like driving 4 hours to Mackinac for a day of geocaching – only to discover I never packed my GPS unit 😡
Back home I go 😡 Mackinac will have to wait another day.
After searching off and on for the last couple of weeks and the last hour this morning for my stubby phillips screwdriver, I have decided to employ the only proven method of finding it. I will go to the hardware store and buy another.
Yup. Then when you get home from the hardware store, you will find the screwdriver that you had lost 😉
