Sorry…but I liked the old site better.

I used the coin pockets from Hobby Lobby. As it turns out, the pockets I got are too small from some of the coins I have. I may take Astro-D’s idea and run with it. Good thing I have a baseball card shop in town that I can run to.

I’ll update when I get them.

Winter is also a good time to solve puzzle caches. If you have enough of those in your area, that should make for some good caching next summer.

One winter, I went to find a cache near Lambeau Field in the parking lot. The guardrail was buried by a 20-25 foot high snowbank. I walked away without even attempting to make the find.

I know what cache you’re talking about, and I always thought the clue meant not to search on game days.

No clue on the page right now, but there is a disclaimer on the cache page that warns it may not be winter friendly.

Avoid guardrails on dead ends in the winter. They are usually plowed in and impossible to get to. Same thing with guardrails at the end of a parking lot.

I went back the following year with no snow at all on the ground and made the easy find.

If you are looking for winter friendly caches to do, the Yellow Brick Road series in Oconto are pretty much winter friendly for the most part.

Michigan doesn’t have an LCG program either, Noonan. So many lonelys in the rural UP that I could get.

This one GC3JJHM has not been found in over a year and it’s only a half hour from my house. I made an attempt at it and was turned away when my GPS would not settle. I might try again when I get a unit that does a better job under heavy tree cover.

All kidding aside, we’ll see what my work schedule is like before I can make a commitment. At the very least, it is close enough for me to make a day visit if I do have to work.

What kind of super fun activities can we do this year? I’m looking for something special.

    Geocaching? 😛

Maybe the local reviewer is a very religious person and let it slide. Who knows?

I’m currently reading a 500 page book, but I downloaded this one since it’s free. I figured, why not? Just in case the freebie was a limited time thing.

I’ll check it out when I’m done with the book that I’m on now.

God knows how many times a geocache has been blown up by the bomb squad.

I blame it on the short turnaround from playing on 4 days rest. If the Vikings were playing on a normal week, Bridgewater would have been ready to go Sunday and the Packers-Vikings would have had a more competitive game.

I absolutely LOATHE the Thursday night games for this reason.

Yeah, it’s nice to have a quarterback who can get outside the pocket and/or pick up a quick first down when he has a relatively low risk hole to run through and he’s not too stupid to know when to slide down but it’s like some of these teams are looking for the 2nd coming of Michael Vick who can just run all over the field and make everyone look foolish.

It’s exciting and it’s fun to watch and it gives defenses a lot to think about. The problem is that Michael Vick had one in a million speed and even he got the crap beat out of him as soon as he started to lose a step.

NFL teams need pocket passers, not running QB’s. If teams are thinking of wanting their QB’s to run, all they have to do is look at Robert Griffin III. Look at what happened with him.

I don’t mind mobility to buy time. That’s what Aaron Rodgers does. But I don’t think quarterbacks should run on designed plays like Washington did with RGIII.

Teams will find out in a hurry that they need to protect their quarterbacks. The Vikings found that out real quick when Bridgewater sprained his ankle on Sunday and is doubtful for Thursday.

I play fantasy football so it gets kind of weird. You wind up rooting for individual guys like, for example, yesterday I had Eddie Lacy and my opponant had Jordy Nelson so I wanted the Packers to win but I wanted it to be all Eddie Lacy and not Jordy. The Packers winning does take priority .

There is a good chance I’ll still win this week in spite of Jordy’s coup and Eddie’s continued struggles. I’m up by 3 points with Rob Gronkowski yet to play tonight…opponent has Travis Kelce.

See, that’s why I don’t play fantasy football anymore. Last time I played fantasy football, I once lost a late season game in which I needed a win to qualify for the playoffs. Who did I lose to? My opponent had Aaron Rodgers, who had his standard 300 yard 4 touchdown game. I had mixed emotions in that game.

I made the decision to not play fantasy football anymore and just stick with my beloved Packers 🙂
