Not surprised to see the Appleton area have the most blue question marks,

in reply to: Favorite Points For Cache Owners #1973525

All my 8 caches are traditionals. Just 4 favorite points total for all of them. All are easy hides.

However…I do get quality logs so that’s what I care about as all of my caches have either a good view of the scenery or involves a walk.

I don’t care if I don’t get favorite points so as long as I get logs like “Nice view of the bay. Thanks for bringing me out here.”

That- to me – is worth more than a favorite point.

That’s why I never filter caches by favorites. One person’s favorite may not necessarily mean it will be the favorite of another person.

I’ve done Copper Culture and Governor Thompson.

Micro. I consider a small container to be like a soup base container. Anything smaller is a micro.

Too bad JW Wells is in Michigan. That park is the closest state park to me.

Glad to see just two remain.

    450 hides 😯

Dang. I think I have like 7 or 8 active hides and I know that is enough for me to maintain. I cannot fathom having to take care of 450 hides.

in reply to: Geo Art – #1973209

Making geo art with the blue ?’s is easy because you don’t actually have to walk the trails. The caches are not actually there.

The more impressive geo arts are the traditional geocaches where you actually have to walk the trails and the caches are actually there on the map.

THAT takes planning and therefore is more impressive to me.

But it DOES have a “Report Page” Button.

However, he is not doing anything illegal in Facebook’s eyes so they won’t do anything. But if enough people hit the “report page” button, would they do something?

in reply to: Your caches after you are no longer with us… #1973308

I will already have a list of passwords for all my sites, not just geocaching, but Paypal, Ebay, etc. and any other sites that I do business on so that if I buy the farm, my kids will have access to to the list so they can take care of unfinished business for me.

No caching plans. Seeing my family in Sheboygan on Thursday. I have not cached for a couple months.

in reply to: Offline Caching with C:Geo #1973196

I have a Galaxy S3 with C:Geo as well, but I use that primarily for looking up information as my main GPS receiver is not paperless. It’s a Garmin Etrex Venture HC.

I do export my GSAK database to c:Geo so I do not have to worry about slow loading times on data, especially if I’m in a spot with weak cell reception.
