I’m in for the 27th.
I don’t count power trails when doing a run. Any schmuck can do 200 caches in a day if they are all .1 of a mile apart on a power trail.
It’s more challenging to drive all over town racking up numbers on different caches. The trick is picking a route and go.
Most I ever had in one day was 41 in an eight hour run in Appleton.
I won’t do it again. I’ll take a 2 hour hike for two caches over a run of 10 PNG caches in two hours any day.
If I need to set up a milestone, then yeah, I’ll go on a run and even then, it is usually around 20.
Vacation request for July 27th turned in today. I’ll know Monday if it is approved. It should be as I don’t think any of my crew requested off that day.
I’m working that weekend but let me see if I can get a vacation day for that Saturday and get back to you.
I once had my Nuvi to tell me to drive across a lake to get to a cache on the other side of the lake. Right.
I’m not all that much into challenges period. I’m not going out of my way to find a cache 200 miles away in order to claim a find of a cache near me.
I prefer to just cache where ever my GPS takes me. I’m more of the spontaneous type.
I know. My cousin works at the Milwaukee location. He’s in Green Bay now for a couple weeks training the workers at the Green Bay location.

When we werte at Cabela’s last week they had Garmin Oregon 400’s for $199.
Maybe check on ebay or GPSCity has some good deals. http://www.gpscity.com/gps-receivers/&p=1&t=Outdoor+GPS
I got lucky and Gander Mountain had the Montana 650T on sale for $450-best price I have seen.
😯
I just cannot fathom paying that much for a receiver even if it was a sale price for a high end receiver. Even if I had the money, I just don’t geocache enough to use it.
I do have my eye on the Etex 20, mainly for the paperless aspect. I love my Garmin Etrex Venture HC but it has no info on the cache other than the name and GC code. So I always have to refer to GDAK on my phone for the cache info if I’m on the trail or to my Nuvi if I’m in the car.
Think I’ll save up for this and watch for sales.
I can’t justify paying $200 or more for a receiver. I realize the higher end models are more accurate, especially in heavy tree cover.
But seeing that I’m just a casual geocacher, I’m fine with my Garmin Etrex Venture HC, which I paid $129 for.
The higher end models are for those that want all the bells and whistles (paperless, wherigo, etc) as well as better accuracy.
All depends what you want in a receiver and the company that you prefer (Garmin, Lowrance, etc)
Just start POI loader manually. My macro does not recognize it either. No biggie so I just start it myself.
All depends how busy the gas station is for me. If there is like a few people, I pump then go inside to pay.
But if there is a lot of people which means I have to wait in line, then I pay at the pump, but generally I find it a lot quicker to go inside and pay.
I’ve always used the tried and true Pilotsnipes macro for the Nuvi. Never failed me that I never saw a need to use others. I use the Nuvi 205 also.
Here’s a copy in my Dropbox account.

Y’all have fun and be safe.
Looking forward to hearing about the adventure.
How did it end up in the river anyways? Did a muggle take it and ditch it in the river or did the cache area get flooded and it floated to the river?
