It’s only takes an extra second. As soon as the macro runs, I click the POI loader icon on the desktop right away. No biggie.
Exactly what I do. I run the POI Loader manually myself.
Rod, not sure why you having issues with macros. I run GSAK 8 and run macros with no problem. If you still have issues, I can stop by Friday after work and take a look if you’d like.
Before I archived my own cemetery caches, just about all of them were either in the woods but still on cemetery grounds or in trees on the grounds but away from markers. And all were easy finds with the purpose being the visit to the cemetery itself.
Clever containers have no business being in a cemetery.

HOWEVER, I would personally draw the line with the WSQ type of hides….. fake crosses, flowers, or anything else designed to be next to a grave site for me is unethical.
I agree. Clever containers have no place in cemeteries. Caches in cemeteries should always be an easy find with the purpose of visiting the cemetery itself, not finding the cache. If I have to spend 5 minutes looking for a cache in a cemetery, I walk away.
I admit I only do the following for GSAK:
1) Load PQ
2) Filter caches I want to find
3) Load both handheld and car GPS
4) Keep record of my stats with stat macro.
That’s pretty much what I use GSAK for. I don’t use it for anything else.
Seems like ammo cans are being targeted in these thefts.

Here is one that I just ran across this last w/e. It is the final to puzzle where you must locate one of 4 keys. Checkout the picture the CO posted on 8/26/12.
The cache is GC3FCKM. Even thought this is not in WI, it shows the extent that muggles will go to to ruin a cache. What that CO needs to do is post fake coords and put the actual coords on the TB keychain similar to what Peaches has done with the Lockbox cache in Green Bay.
You see the current coordinates for Hurricane Isaac on the weather channel and you think to yourself – “I’m not far from that longitude.”
Wow. When I visited the park for my 200th find 3 years ago, there was like maybe 3-4 caches. I found two, including the Pike Powder Hike. The other two I knew of were an earthcache and the bingo puzzle cache.
Good to see that park have more caches.

So, let’s say one does do 100+ finds in a day. Doing the logs is a pain, even with copying and pasting. We’ve seen references to using a GSAK feature (macro?) that can expedite this process. Can anyone shed some light on exactly how this is done?
I’d like to know about this macro myself.
My yearly breakdown
2009 401 1.5483 caches/day
2010 351 0.9616 caches/day
2011 217 0.5945 caches/day
2012 101 0.4298 caches/dayYup, yup. Hardcore geocachers have found more in a few days than I have in all of my 3+ years of geocaching.
Exactly.
Can’t go wrong with a Nuvi. Several different models out there, depending on the features you are looking for.
