It’s why I never do updates unless I absolutely have to.
Whatcha talking about? Our night crew still has to vote yet. I just voted now and our Rick is up 9615 to 9467.
You were not the only one to feel bad after the loss, Rick. I was completely lethargic all day Monday. Didn’t give a **** about anything. I’m good to go now as well.
Jermichael Finley’s new endorsement deal.
I think it has to do with the Packers out of the playoffs now. The Packers are no longer in the national spotlight. Steele’s friends will forget about them now.
But we cheeseheads are still gonna keep voting for Rick because they are our Packers. Well, except for Sandlanders and Big Jim 😛 They are only voting to support a fellow geocacher 😛
+199 about 15 minutes ago when I voted.
Here’s a positive side to the Packers loss today. I think Steele’s friends and family will forget about them now lol.
You using Android? Take a look at C:Geo for Android. I use it sometimes when I don’t have my GPS with me.
Also take a look at GDAK. You can put your entire GSAK Database in there and use it for offline geocaching (C:GEO requires internet access, which is not always possible if you don’t have a signal).
Both apps are free.
Questions, let me know.
That’s fine, Sandlanders.
Also, I just promoted this in the Michigan Geocaching Organization forums and this is what I wrote.
I know many of you are Lions fans but I figured I’d make this request.
A good friend of mine, who also is a geocacher and goes by the geocaching name of RickBlick and Chick, is up for nomination for the Green Bay Packers Fan Hall of Fame.
His real name is Rick Wiltzus and he’s from Wausau, Wisconsin. He’s been a Packer fan since the Lombardi years and is a season ticket holder.
Even though many of you are Lions fans and probably never even heard of Rick, I’m hoping to appeal to this group to get a fellow geocacher into the Packer Fan Hall of fame. Rick will greatly appreciate it.
You can register at http://www.jsonline.com/packersfan and once registered, you can vote once daily until February 5th. Each vote gets you an entry for a chance to win a Packers road trip for two to a 2012 away game! (Includes airfare, accommodations and game tickets.) With luck, that road trip could be to Ford Field in Detroit 🙂
Again, vote for Rick Wiltzus from Wausau, Wisconsin. Thank you 🙂
No idea…but two e-mail addresses from the same name and from the same location are a red flag.
I use an older Garmin…Etrex Venture HC.
I doubt it has any recent updates.
Dude,
Don’t be using e-mail addresses that are not your own. Those votes will get thrown out once verified.
Good to know your experience with a LEO went well.
I will never forget my one bad experience that caused a whole neighborhood to be upset a couple years ago.

Then on the other side of the coin, I was looking for a night cache with my trusty flashlight in my hometown when a cop pulled up. I still was looking for the final firetacks. Cop asked me what I was doing. I told him I was geocaching. He asked if I found it. I said nope. He shined his flashlight in the general direction the cache would be, then drove away and I went back to look for it.
So all in all, I’ve experienced both sides in my encounters with LEOs – good and bad.
Is is a bad thing if I wish for a major snowstorm to knock out the power in the Pittsburgh area for a couple days? 😛
All I can say are two things:
1) If you don’t like roadside micros, don’t attempt them. You did say you found about 35 caches of this type in your last 50 finds. That’s quite a bit of roadside micros for a guy who doesn’t like roadside micros 😛
2) Not everyone can do 5 mile hikes for a quality cache. Many cachers appreciate being able to just drive up to a cache. Some may have a disability of some sort so it’s all they can do.
Off the soapbox.
