The NFL has apologized to the state of Wisconsin for the smell of smoke from the Minnesota wildfire…They are saying that if Chicago didn’t suck and Minnesota didn’t blow so bad that we wouldn’t be affected at all!
Logging from a phone is somewhat cumbersome. I can type a whole lot faster on a computer keyboard than I can on a phone.
MY GPS marks my finds and DNF’s so all I have to do when I get home is to look at my GPS what I did for the day and log it online.
The only reason I can think about why I should log on a phone is FTF and I did that once. Actually that was a FTL – First to Log – lol. I just missed an FTF on one cache by 5 minutes so I posted the find on my phone before the FTF’er got home to post her find – lol.
Anyways…
TFTC logs, copy and paste logs, and other similar logs are in bad taste in my opinion but I’m not gonna gonna delete a log when someone does that to my caches. For every TFTC I get, I get more well written logs.
I also look at it this way – if you start logging finds in the field, you are wasting time in the field when you could already be on the way to the next cache.
With all the stupid updates that Groundspeak does, you would think that they would have the capability of edited logs sent to to CO. But nah, that’s not the case.
i saw in my e-mail just now. Now that’s rude. I’ll check the physical logbook when I can to make sure it is not an armchair logger
Going to De Pere Friday for a high school football game (and a few caches too). Any good places to eat at before I go to the game, preferably on De Pere’s west side?
Hmmm…..
A shot at 1000 finds at this event?
Tempting. I’ll have to think about it.
There’s always Rhode Island if you want a realistic chance of completing a Delorme – lol. I hear it can be done in one day.
Thanks, everyone. I know my pace is becoming slower these days as I have to go further and further away to go caching as I don’t exactly live in a cache dense area. If it was not for my four visits to Marquette in the last 3 weeks, I would not have done it.
I consider Marquette to be the U.P. version of West Bend as it is very dense in caches though not as much as West Bend. I found 101 caches in Marquette County and that’s still less than 1/4 of the total caches in Marquette county whereas I pretty much found all the caches in Menominee County where I live and yet, that total is only 71 caches. I might have a few stray caches in the boonies here to get yet.
With my son living in Marquette now, I’ll have many more opportunities to cache up there.
Barry, when that 1K party happens, I have no idea. According to GSAK, it says I’ll find #1000 on January 25, 2012 – lol. Yeah right. I’ll probably get it next spring.
Again, Thanks everyone.
Looks like 5 more caches popped up on that trail since Barry and I visited it a few months ago. Damn you, TC – lol. Gives me a reason to go back and explore the trail again 🙂
Yes, it is a great series.
Looks like something that someone under house arrest could use like Neal Caffrey on Whilte Collar.
I’m not one to move coins or TB’s unless I feel the cache is in a high muggle area and might get taken or if the coins/TB have been in there a while. If the coin has an Icon associated that I like, I’ll either write down the number for discover or take it and move it myself.
But yeah, I noticed the lack of coins and TB’s being moved along.
I have no coins or TB’s released in the wild. All are in my possession and I currently have 3 coins and TB’s owned by others that I still have to move along yet. One was a TB that was in a high muggle location that I felt would get taken and go missing so I grabbed it.
I agree – TB’s and GC’s are more like collectors items now than items to be moved along.
I’m not gonna bother with the challenges period. The number of challenges will be a big fat zero on my profile because personally I don’t think challenges should be part of geocaching. It should have its own page like waymarking.

Don’t know if they are any good, but if you want some numbers see GC2XMAT Push – Pull Midnight Power Trail. 200 hides with reflectors.
That’s not far from me…I think I know what I’m doing next month 😉

The Marquette / Ishpeming area has a lot of high quality caches. We’ve been very impressed every time we’ve been up there visiting our kids.

I second the motion. I was just there yesterday and today and I’m never disappointed when I go there. That area has a nice mix of P & G’s to go with nice hikes in several parks.

Dare I say it – Ok here it goes.
A number of cachers never read the description and have no clue why the cache is there. They just want to get the smiley. Here’s a log from a cache (not mine) that I just got
Location: Wisconsin, United States
xxxxxxx found Adventurous OshGosh ~ Goin’ Naked Again (Traditional Cache) at 8/11/2011Log Date: 8/11/2011
coordinates off but still a smiley.TFTHand the description reads
IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE CACHE…
…
the coordinates will get you the parking location only.
From there, you are on your own. The hints are the cache is within the park boundaries within a 100 feet of the coordinates and you should NOT enter the fenced in area.Well, he could have been referring to the final?
…hmmm?
