After reading this, I decided to lock my GPS’s so that even if they get stolen, they’d be useless to the thieves.

    PM sent to Timberline Echoes.

Basically I’ll be in town to cache during the day on Friday, watch the football game Friday night and probably stay in a hotel Friday night.

If I do stay overnight, no idea where I’ll cache Saturday. Do I finish cleaning up the town or go elsewhere to cache? Decisions decisions as someone in chat used to tease me – lol.

Not a biggie with me. For cache dense areas, I always have more than one PQ. For example, in the Green Bay area, it has so many puzzles that all I have to do is run a non-puzzle PQ and a puzzle only PQ and I’m good to go.

All depends on what types of caches dominate any one area. Typically it is either traditionals or puzzles. Rarely do I see a concentration of multi’s.

But anyways, when I go out caching, I filter out puzzles on GSAK and off I go. It does mean I’ll miss out on some field solves. But if I know an area has lots of WSQ’s, I’ll filter them in because they are field solves for the most part.

Perhaps if GSAK can also filter in the field solve puzzle attribute, I might be more inclined to take advantage of that then.

I don’t even look at attributes when I geocache for the most part. I just load caches into both of my Garmins (Nuvi and Venture) and I just cache on the fly.

The only time I really pay attention to the attributes is when I want to tackle a tough cache for a milestone. Then I look to see what I need or don’t need to cache (climbing gear, flashlight, high muggle area, etc)

Rather than start a new thread, here’s my log of the day from cache GCWZ1J – Bridge Over Troubled Waters, which is a night cache in Marinette, WI.

    Log Date: 8/25/2010
Well, while enjoying a nature hike today with my Husband, Son and our Bulldog, our Son Brandon (9) stumbled upon this box. We knew we found a treasure, just wasn’t sure what it was. Upon opening the box we noticed the note and several toys. It then clicked that I knew what this was, but have only heard of it. A friend of mine’s Daughter was telling her about and and she spread the word to me. When I looked at the enclosed signed list of ppl who have seen this box I noticed her name signed there! Its also cool that we found it on our wedding anniversary! We have spent alot of time traveling those trails and never realized what was hidden there. Inside was the instructions for the cache, a pen, notebook, some dinosaur figurines, a casino card, a WIXX sticker, and a few other toys. We left behind a deck of cards, a goosebumps card and an extra pen. We had no high tech gps device and it was found in the middle of the day, but it was a cool find and will have to check for more places now!

Maybe I’ll run into you guys on the trails out there. I have Korpl’s cellphone number and he has mine. Perhaps we can cache together.

A man finds a lamp with a genie in it. The genie grants the man 3 wishes.

“I would like a million dollars,” said the man.

The genie waves his hand and poof, a stack of hundred dollar bills appears in front of the man.

“I would like a nice flashy car to drive in..perhaps an Aston Martin,” said the man.

The genie waves his hand and poofs, an Aston Martin car appears in front of the man.

“I would like to have world peace,” said the man.

“I think that wish is too difficult for me. Can you request a different one?” said the genie.

“Ok, ” said the man. “I would like Brett Favre to STAY retired.”

The genie thinks for a minute.

“Let’s go back to that world peace thing. I think I can manage that,” said the genie.

Are the caches in this series field solves or online research puzzles?

I didn’t want to make a new thread if I didn’t have to. Anyways, I’ll be in Rhinelander on Sept 10 if anyone wants to say hello. Going caching in the day then attending a high school football game at night.

Nice job, rtrezrsnhvn. (I had to copy and paste your name to make sure it’s spelled correctly :P). A puzzle for your first milestone. Maybe you should pull a “CodeJunkie” and get a different type of cache for each milestone lol.

Hope to run into you on the trails someday.

in reply to: Is it a multi or a puzzle? #1934947

I’ve seen many night caches listed at either multis pr puzzles and in some cases, traditionals.

Many are so similar in that the posted coordinates will take you to a spot where you start using your flashlight to look for firetacks. So how would a night cache be classified depending on its set up?

What do you call a woman with PMS and a GPS?

A bitch that will find you.
