Those of you coming up on Highway 41 from the south need to be aware that Menominee is undergoing road construction on highway 41 from 23rd Ave to 30th ave. The detour will probably add on to maybe 5 to 10 minutes of travel time depending on traffic.

Also, those of you coming in from the west on 64 need to be aware that Hall Avenue in Marinette is also under construction. Simply follow the detour signs and keep in mind that will add about 10 to 15 minutes travel time depending on traffic.

M-35 north of Menominee is clear and ready to go.

I’ll keep everyone posted as the event gets closer.

Linear are fine with me so as long as the walk back is not too far. I did a series of 6 caches over a 3/4 mile walk today but it meant I had to walk back the 3/4 miles – lol. Let me know when you put out the new ones, Amita, and I’ll check them out.

    Thanks 🙂

Figured I’d give this a bump. Any trails with new caches on them?

I went on a trail with 6 caches today and had fun doing so despite the snow.

I’m loving caching on trails with multiple caches on it.

I live alone, so tick checks on my back is a problem. But I do remove my clothes, use a handheld mirror and check myself on a wall mirror. Even if I don’t see any, I take a hot shower. Many times, I’ve seen ticks go down the drain – lol.

Hmm..I might just do the hotel thing on both counts…thanks for the advice, Sandlanders.

Ok…I’m not the camping type..but I should be able to make it, barring a change in work schedule.

Team Black Cat is probably the best source to ask about this. They are stat freaks – lol – and have an extensive offline database on their GSAK program.

Back on topic, I would like to know myself if this date is set in stone. If it is, that’s my regular weekend off from work and I can make it.

Most I’ve found on me at one time was 10 at once..two were attached.

Haven’t found one yet this year, but I’ve been mainly staying out of tick infested areas.

That might change when I go on my numbers run in Marquette on Thursday.

I do admit I kinda like the sound one makes when an attached tick is removed form someone…you know..that “pop” sound.

Satisfying to know you got rid of it when you hear that “pop” sound.

I’ve had a couple infections from woodtick bites before..but none from deer ticks yet.

That one is one of my personal favorites that it’s in the “About me” section of my Facebook page.

in reply to: Listening to music while caching #1926439

Guess I’m the only one that does so then. I have a high frequency hearing loss so I can’t hear much of nature anyways. Music with plenty of bass to it helps keeps me focused though I don’t listen to my I-pod in high muggle areas so I can listen for people that may be coming around while I’m searching.

Hmm…that looks like a fun cache. I’ll be in Oshkosh on the 23rd and 24th for a bowling tournament. So that one will be on my list.

    Congrats, SGH and BB.

in reply to: now THIS is an ammo can #1926368

If you want to look for large ammo cans, check out GC1DXWF (Devastation & Aftermath).

It had the largest ammo box that I’ve seen thus far.

    I did misread it, CJ.
