Guess I’ll have to pay out of state prices.
I plan on returning to Gov Thompson State park in the spring to clean up the caches there, then hit some other state parks that has multiple caches.
Nice going, Gunman.
Idiots who only scrape a small peep hole in their iced over car windows.
Idiots who don’t brush away snow from their headlights or tail lights.
Idiots in their 4WD that drive like they own the road in a snowstorm. I do smile when the same idiot in the 4WD ends up in a ditch down the road.
I was looking at snowshoes at Dunham’s just for the hell of it. I have never worn snowshoes in my life and they look cumbersome and difficult to walk in.
When I used to think of snowshoes, I used to think of a tennis racket tied to someone’s boot – lol.
Maybe next year. I don’t think I’ll be out enough in the snow to warrant me getting snowshoes.
Some bogus waypoints are also parking spots to park at for the final. That’s the case with the Semaphore cache that I solved and found last week for my 399th find.
What I did for that one was run the Nuvi macro to send the caches to my nuvi, then edited the coordinates for the Semaphore cache on GSAK and sent it to my handheld.
That made it easy for me to find the parking spot with the Nuvi then the cache itself with the handheld.
But as the winter goes on, I know I will solve a few caches without fining them right away. That’s why I wanted to figure out a way to organize my solved puzzles and looks like your method will work for me. I’m sure I’ll come up with my own system soon enough as I solve more puzzles.
Hm.
Thank you for all your methods. Looks like CJ’s method will work for me.
I’m not into puzzle caches all that much, but with the caching downtime in the winter, I figure I’d try some puzzles.
So far as of this post, I’ve only solved 4 puzzles from home (2 of them found during my milestone run).
I hope to solve a few more though a lot of the puzzles are head scratchers, but eventually I’ll get that “a-ha” moment or the “duh” moment.
Thanks, CJ, for the topic.
Way to go, Frmr.
I remember when Bartrod and I first went to that cache, we ended up on the wrong side of the road due to incorrect coordinates.
We both made separate trips with the correct coordinates to find that cache.
22 caches in one day is not easy in the snow. Great job, man. Welcome to the 400 club 😛
I’ll post a note if I was in the area if I didn’t make an effort, saying there may be too many muggles, ice is unsafe, too much water around it, etc.
Thanks, everyone. Even though that cache was nowhere near a T4, It still was a challenge as I had to walk a mile in the cold.
And T & B, Well-timed is right. I arrived home in time as the snow was just starting to fall.
Greenthumb, I agree. Hope to run into you on the trails someday.
Bartrod, yes, I hemmed and hawed – lol..the storm just made my decision easier as I had to cache away from it – lol.
Great walk on that trail and it also gave me some inspirations to plant some caches on it -if Tiki or Rusty will let me do that, seeing I live 50 miles away from it. I do go to Escanaba on a regular basis not to do with geocaching, so that should not be a problem, but I’ll wait til next spring to do so.
Again, thanks everyone.
Nice going, Cheezie. I’ll be joining you in the 400 club tomorrow.
My blog has more info on that, Zuma. Link is below.
Peeved at a cache owner who deleted one of my logs without notice and reason..therefore screwing up my entire GSAK database.
Had to make a whole new database as a result.
I decided to wait until next week to get the milestone. Only reason I wanted to go tomorrow is to get 100 finds in less than 32 days, but I can easily get 100 finds in 1 day next summer now that I have a real GPS receiver so no biggie.
Think I got Tuesday the 8th off from work so I’ll do it then.
Thanks for the suggestions anyways. They will come in handy should I decide to do a quick run if I’m ever in Green Bay for other reasons.
Too bad the UP of Michigan where I am is not part of the LCG. Lots of lonelys here. I found one a couple weeks ago that was not found for over a year and rescued a TB that sat in there all that time.
My pet peeve are people who posts photos in a thread that are too large, forcing me to scroll side to side to read a message. All it takes is a few seconds to downsize a picture before posting. Thank you.
