Way to go, LDove.
Which cache was the milestone?
And I see the other two in the group are not far behind the 1400 plateau.
Might wanna try the GS forums. Knowschad over there may have ideas about that area. He’s from MN and has hit over 3000 caches, I think.
Way to go, Cheezehead

Good job!
Every active cache in the state? Dude, there has to be tens of thousands of caches in the state. That won’t work.
I really don’t need a PQ of the whole state anyways – only areas that I’m going caching in. If it is in an area dense with caches like West Bend, no problem. I’ll run several PQ’s ahead of time with different settings so I’m covered. No problem.
To sum it up, your proposal won’t fly.

Welcome! I think I’ve seen your logs on a few of our caches already though I could be mistaken.
You are not mistaken. I found the Sincerest Flattery cache about a couple weeks ago. Loved the hide on that one. Only cache of yours I’ve found thus far, but not for long. I am planning to go after your letterbox hybrids within the new few weeks .
Thanks for the welcome.
My pet peeve: Cookie cutter logs.
In other words, the typical same phrase cut and pasted in each log.
I’m sure that’s been brought up before.
Outside of caching, my pet peeve are jerks who talk on the cell phone while driving. I’ve had some near misses because they didn’t see me.
Another analogy is that caching is just like potato chips. You can’t have just one chip. You gotta have more.
In other words, once you find that first cache, you gotta find more 😉
Welcome to WGA, Timmy.
Thanks, everyone.
Bartrod, nice one. I’ll remember that. 😉
As I get closer to 200, I’ll probably post in the other thread looking for someone else to cache with me for my 200th find. I still got like 34 to go as of this post, so it may be 1-2 weeks yet, depending on how often I go out in the field.
Thanks for the welcomes. I’m looking forward to running into some of you on the trails and maybe do a caching run together.
After my poison ivy rash clears up on my arm a little bit, I’ll be back out in the field sometime this week in my quest for my 200th find. I already have talked to a few people on some caches for my 200th find and hope to reach that goal on Thursday on my day off from work. Where I wanna go, I don’t know, but I’ll figure it out soon enough 😉
As for the poison ivy itself, don’t ask where I got it. I don’t know. I went on a nice run through several caches last week and noticed the rash showing up on my arm shortly after that. Could have been in any number of caches that I was in. I’ll have to look through my records to see if there was any particular ones that may have poison ivy leaves near it.
It happens and it’s part of the game. I’m not worried about it just as i’m not worried about ticks, stinging nettles, etc. I’m prepared for all that. Just gotta stock up on cortaid, triple AB, tweezers, etc. LOL.
Again, thanks for the welcomes.
Well, almost a month has gone by. Did you survive the experience? 😛
I’ve only been at this for about 3 months. In my 160+ finds, I’ve only cached with two others.
The first was Bartrod, who I met to tackle the Mission Impossible Final cache in Marinette & Menominee.
The second cachers was the Funky Finderz. I was at the Small Potato cache near Marinette and had a bit of issue looking for it.
I was walking back to my car, sent them a text message asking if they found it and see if I could get a hint. Not even 5 minutes later, they come pulling up and I was like, damn, that was fast. Turns out that cache was one of the few local caches that they have not found yet at the time. It was just pure luck that they came up. It was the first and only time that I ran into another cacher by accident. My meeting Bartrod was planned, though I also ran into him when he was at one of my caches and I went there to check on it.
But for the most part, I’ve yet to run into anyone else, though I do keep in touch with others by e-mail and texting. Hopefully I run into them on the trails someday.
Edit: I should have added that I did meet a few others at the Fallen Timbers event near Seymour last month. They include Lander & Lancelot, Lone Gunman, and Sjddavis though I have not seen them on the trails since.
I agree. That series was a lot of fun and I’m proud to say that it’s in my home area.
Well worth checking out.
