I found our Viewmaster in the attic. I should pull it out for the grandkids entertainment. Surprisingly, these high tech kids LOVE the low tech toys around here. *eye roll*
This is so cool. For years I’ve suggested to family that there is no need to run around trying to figure out what gift to get. We don’t need anything. It can be a hard habit to break.
Today we got a card in the mail from UNICEF. Mom and Dad bought two locally made (in Malawi) desks for school kids in our name.
I was having trouble getting to the site from my bookmarked link. I kept getting “website not available” error codes. When I google the organization, I can get here by clicking the correct search result. Always an adventure!
Trekkin’ is on the phone again with his Amish friend. This always cracks me up!
That was kind of the theme of the day here, SL. Many rounds between us and the lights. The minor miracle here was that we just gave up and went to Target…twice. We prevailed in the end.

Check the string, replace the duds, put it up…doesn’t work now! Plug it back in on the floor, it appears a bunch of lights on half the string blew…now we’re replacing those.
Personally I think it’s time to go to Target.
We’re on Charter, but I haven’t seen too much of this weirdness. When I read the drivel earlier this morning, I scrolled down and it showed me as not logged in. I logged in, but had nothing drivel worthy to say then.
I need to get to work on putting lights on the tree.
I don’t think Trekkin’ will ever give up on a tree we go out to cut. Northwoods boy, y’know.
Well, there was that year about 3-4 years back when he went all Scrooge on us and I finally put up our crummy Charlie Brown fake tree.
Hope it gets straightened out, Noonan.
We have cut a tree. It is now standing in the house. I might get the lights on it yet today. It needs trimming and Trekkin’ is on the couch taking his daily nap. If it’s trimmed when I get back from candlelight yoga, I can see about lights and fake popcorn strings going on it.
Hopefully they mean they’ll place whatever bugs they took…hopefully.
I like to go to some kind of holiday live theater. Not sure what’s available in the area this year, but last year we went to a musical at our favorite small venue…a Minnesota based Christmas Carol spoof. It was absolutely hilarious!
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there……
Trekkin’ just learned that one of his old high school football buddies passed away this morning. 61 is kind of young. They’d reconnected via the book of faces. “Peacefully at home this morning” whatever that means. 🙁
I laugh when I see our progress. Other than the lakeshore biome, we have several that require “just one more” for another little bit of art. Looks like if we want them all, we’ll have to eventually log the two we trailboss. Winter in the state parks is fun. Less crowds. You might have to hike farther in some cases, but we like that, too. We’re hoping to get to Willow River for the first time in the next few weeks. I understand there are nice snowshoe and xc ski trails to enjoy there!
Boy, I slept late this morning. Not sure why.
