Our profile shows three, but one of those is really an exchange cache. We did hike close to the UK side of the exchange when we were on our honeymoon.
Sad that I’ve visited 11 countries, all but Kenya since the start of geocaching. I did not find caches in any of them and I fear my international travel days are behind me now.
I also think that the huge popularity of all these drive by power trails has reduced interest in all things trackable. No place to drop them.
We had geocoins made shortly after we first started. What a waste of money for a couple of cachers who aren’t much into the whole trackable business. I’m sure if we went to Geocoinfest we could do a bunch of trading, but….why? All our stuff like that sits in boxes in the attic, or as I’ve been discovering the past couple days, somewhere in my girl cave.
Along with the island caches, one of the pluses of winter caching is following tracks right to the cache. We spent a winter or two digging out caches, only to see smarter people a few days later saying…”Thanks to T and B for digging it out for us!”
We have gotten less determined and more intelligent about such things! I do agree with SL……if it’s feeling like it’s not fun….wait another year. We whiffed on October 1, which was one of our final dates, because of many of the reasons you mention…..working late, very dark, plus we had our infant grandson to care for. We took care of the date the following year and I honestly don’t think our well being is any worse or better for it! 🙄
We haven’t done that one yet. I actually wasn’t too far from it this evening, but I had other fish to fry. One person you might contact for help would be lee arrowslinger. He lives not far from there and might be willing to help with it.
I guess that 450t is safe for a little whole longer. The hard reset seems to have solved the issue. Thanks Marie!
It’s been awhile since we’ve been there…hoping life lines up so we can return!
Okay, I’ll look into a reset and firmware update.
Though it might be easier to just take over that 450t sitting and collecting dust!
Thanks for the ideas.

What a great name change and perfect place to mark that milestone. Congratulations!
Congratulations! Definitely a great place to mark a milestone.
Okay, I found it. Hyde’s Mill, originally Lil’ Otter’s cache. He found it back when it was almost a new cache.
Who logged one of our caches? Which cache? 😯
This is a somewhat similar situation. We did a cache that is located in the far northwest corner of Minnesota, maybe 500 feet from border patrol. Interestingly, it’s underneath the bridge that forms a road into North Dakota. When I read through the logbook, there were several entries from the Border Patrol and the DOT inspection team, all reading something to the effect that “cache is in good shape today!”
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe that if an owner comes forth or is tracked down, they are billed for the cost….for the kind of reasons Casual-Cacher mentions.
I know back when I was on the WGA board, there was a committee that worked to develop an informational pamphlet for law enforcement agencies. Some of the things that can happen when caching can compromise this game and it helps to keep that in mind. Personally, I’m not a fan of anything that says you need “stealth” for that reason.
I wonder if they billed the cache owner for the “service.”
I did the one with many pieces. Boy, have you got my number, or what? Thanks for the fun, Pat!
