Thanks to all of you who have served our country. It means a lot and sometimes we forget that. Thanks Jim for starting this thread.
This is a gorgeous area to explore. Great news!
Congratulations on a big milestone with lots of room!
Congratulations…..I always loved the Arthurian legends. Enjoy the series. Finally got the link to work and I can see this is a great series for the hippies.
Sounds like everyone had a great time (saw some pictures on facebook). Nice day, fun people. We were really tempted, but it’s just too long a haul from our corner in the hills here for a day trip. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, maybe someday we can have similar fun!
Congratulations, it’s one of the few “pure” challenges out there. Great way to get to know your state…looking forward to seeing the log.
Congratulations Jim. What a great way to mark a milestone, by sharing your enjoyment of the game and of Mead with all who could make it.
If you’re interested in knowing by state, you can search by “state page” in the drop down menu on “hide and seek a cache” and it will tell you how many total active caches there are in that state.
The book arrived at my library today and I’ve started the “pre-reading” process. I’ve looked at some of the links to the Kohler Foundation as well. This is the next book on my “to read” list now. I am curious, since the cache listing (and the book, too) makes it fairly clear it is a drive by site, how people manage photos. I’m hopeful that one day, the Foundation can open it for public viewing, too. The book shows some shots of the inside, as well as her other artworks (and no cache spoilers!)
If you haven’t done this one, it’s a fun stop.
http://coord.info/GC628BThose Buddy Holly virtuals are really worth the travel. If you can, visit the one at the Surf when it’s open, so you can take in all the cool memorabilia there.
If you need to make a gas stop, this one at a “Fast Journey” gas station south of Rochester MN is kind of cute.
To the west, if you have time, is the Pipestone National Monument EarthCache. It’s a bit of a stretch, but really worth the visit if you haven’t been there.
Hope this gives you some ideas and have a great trip.
Congratulations, you da man, but we have to say, Lauryn does darn good with the camera, too. Thanks for hitting the big one at the big eyeball where we hid this reasonably sized cache, too!
Congrats Todd! Yup, a FTF in an area like that is really something to be excited about, and a milestone makes it all the moreso.
Seriously, this is in Wisconsin somewhere? Or not. I’d have to steel myself but it could be fun, depending on how long the “ramp” is.
Wasn’t sure if the virtual would be given away with the book by naming it, so I left it anonymous. I guess once we’ve been there, I’ll know if it would have been a spoiler.
I did the same thing!
