And my mom makes some really good pierogies. I have the recipe. Someday I’ll try it myself. But for tonight, it’s kielbasa with roasted brussel sprouts and some of the cheddar cheese bread we bought yesterday. Can’t get more Wisconsin than that. I think there’s beer in the fridge. Or we can just take some of our son’s crap beer that’s in there. He takes our stuff all the time!
No, the best pasties are the ones made by Trekkin’ and Mr. Timberline Echoes dad….living on the edge of Yooper land and a man who truly speaks Yoopanese. None better than those. Anywhere. At all. Even in Cornwall homemade. We’ve had those, too.
We were in Reedsburg yesterday eating things fermented along the Farm/Art DTour, and stopped in the gift shop in town. They had a lot of cool books there, published by U of W Press. We got a coupon for orders….I think this one will be on order for us.

I like also the sociology aspect of this guide. We do enjoy finding little local places. I grew up in “nordeast” Minneapolis, where most of the kids’ surnames ended in czyk or ski, but had not heard of gotta run’s food group before. Sounds yummy. Have to keep an eye out for them.
Thanks to all of you, and of course all those who place the caches we all run around to find. Gotta love a Major Award, and man, does that R Crumb dude bring back some funky memories. At least I can remember… 🙄
Tom, I’d love to see more recipes, too. Do you use a packaged seasoning or make your own for the pumpkin seeds?
Really? We’re going to visit some of the food stands for Fermentation Fest tomorrow, wonder if any will have bread like this.
So you dehydrate the veggies before baking? How would it turn out if a person just added them raw before baking? Maybe I should try it out. Seriously, I have a whole vegetable drawer full of them and even I can only eat so much carrot cake! Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations to you both. It was quite the foggy day.
I agree, I think we need a recipe. I have so many carrots from our farm share!
I had one of those once….great point, Pete!
There is an easy solution to the concern regarding personal emails. Just create an email for yourself at one of the free sites, like “fitbobcatcache@yahoo and use it exclusively for your caching business. That way, our volunteers here can concentrate on those things that really grow the sport in our great state, like providing events, outreach and community education.
Wrong thread, Becky. That one doesn’t count! 😉
Ours came today, too.
I’m thinking we didn’t make the cut.
Do you think…..if a person finds an EarthCache on THE day, they get this cool souvenir?
(Which we used to think had no inherent value, but with these challenge caches out there……)
