Barry, I went to Lookout II today…no luck on the first stage but WOW on the colors from the top of the fire tower! Unbelievably breathtaking.

We were in the Wausau area this weekend and it is really close to peak, if not peak already. Some really breathtaking colors on Rib Mountain and on the back roads that took us to the Eau Claire Dells.

I just talked with accordiongal, who is at some teardrop camper event over that way, and she suddenly says…”Oh, the maples on this stretch are gorgeous!” then hung up.

I had nothing more to say, anyway.

I just heard back from the owner of the bed and breakfast I’ll be staying. He says peak colors during my visit up there. Yeah!

I know I’m a tad early for peak, but the forecast looks great, we don’t have grandkid daycare next week and Trekkin’s off on some crazy thing elsewhere. So I’m doing what I want to do! And looking forward to it.

I’m planning a solo trip to Marinette County to do some waterfalling the beginning of next week and hoping for nice colors there, too.

Well, I guess we’re not leaving the game yet. I shut everything off in frustration last night, then tried again this morning with one of the other USB cords we have around here. It worked. I don’t know if the computer shut-off is the key or the new cord. I didn’t know that communicator thing was only for downloading from the site, which we do on occasion, like if there’s just one we want to seek.
