OPS, That sucks big time, I feel for you! What you describe is our picture of retirement….when you can follow through on something like that and if you need to hole up another day or two…..so be it!

I guess I kind of sort of hope the storm is all it was predicted. I just read that I-90 west of Albert Lea has been shut down now. Even Santa is waiting another week to come visiting from the North Pole at many area events, I understand. If Santa’s staying home, well you know it must be bad (or Rudolph has the flu).

I’m still trying to track down a story I heard on late night talk radio when I was in college about a ghost steam packet seen on the full moon under the camden bridge in Minneapolis. Good luck. I’ve run out of resources. I even contacted the ghost buster guys and they’d never heard it. Talked directly with a storyteller I know who is also a ghost hunter. I actually thought *he* might have been the caller. Nope. Posted a request to the area newspaper. Local person there polled the folks at the senior center. You name it, I’ve tried it. I’m about ready to just “fill in the details” from my own and my dad’s shaky memory banks. Once I do and tell it somwhere, I’m sure someone will recognize it and set me straight.

Well, this was funny. Dick was out shoveling, and this camera man from the news station comes over and says, “I’ve never seen anyone work so efficiently with a shovel!”

Dick…”I’m a Yooper, this is how it’s done.”

So this guy got down really low to the ground to take slow motion footage of him shoveling, LOL. Guess we’ll have to watch the “other” news station tonight.

I just saw where Mrs. Bandits posted on fb that they have a good 4-6 inches already, with 10-15 predicted.

Nice day to stay home and bake and sew and other fun stuff. I guess we still have a coupon code for two free movies, too.

I haven’t visited tons of other state organization’s sites, but comparing the nice site update to the ones I have, it stands right alongside them. As Chris said, we are basically a social network for geocachers in the state, not a business site for professionals. I think it looks pretty nice, in a fun homegrown manner, and I *do* have some artistic abilities. Basically one individual has been working on this project to create an updated design, which people have been requesting for at least a couple years now.

We might not be “professionals,”, but I think we can remember that geocachers creed thingie posted a couple weeks back and treat the hard work done with respect. Thank you to Brian of Team Black Cat for taking on this big project. No lumps of coal in your stocking this year!

Darn, that’s the one “cool” state I’ve got, too. Like everything else in life, I’m always the last one in line, LOL.

I forgot…marking locations of significant birding sightings so I can enter them later on e-bird. Also, it was used twice to mark the location of close sightings of timber wolves, for reporting to the DNR.

I wonder if Dick did that cache solo. I can’t imagine not spotting something so seriously cool.

(We may still go ahead and place one more challenge, our Weird Wisconsin one. I just love that kind of stuff).
