On the topic of a couple of crazies giving everyone a bad rap….we were out somewhere, can’t remember where, but there was a liquor store with a big billboard that read….”your hunting party starts here!” illustrated with a bunch of refreshing looking longnecks.
I was rather flabberghasted to see it, so I think I blocked the location from my mind.
I actually did an article for my Examiner gig on deer hunting and its impact on geocaching. There is also a follow up article with ideas for “safer” caching in our area during the season.

IMO, blaze orange, at least in the form of a cap, is a good idea from about September through year’s end.
Our plans are to mainly do “safe” caching, but we do have blaze orange and if we don’t see signs of hunters, may go to some of those caches, too. Trekkin’ used to deer hunt, so he knows what signs to look for.
Congratulations, that has always looked like it would be a fun cache to do….even under cloudy conditions!
I haven’t usually used the zip to create our PQs, so I’m not sure what would be “normal.” Our town’s zip code (54669) shows the center to be about a half mile west of the post office. I thought the post office location was the focal point, and there are caches closer to that than what shows at the top of the list.

BTW, it keeps telling me my windows doesn’t work. I have installed the needed updates. It still tells me that. ARgh!
I may just have to give up on this. Worked through a bit of the cartridge building and all seems fine. Go to open it up and I can’t. Some long involved error message.
It’s frustrating…I think I’ve got a nice little rustic road tour of our town set up, gathered everything I need and keep running up against stuff like this. Sometimes I think the folks at gs get excited about some concept, promote it as a flash in the pan, then don’t build it up so that when the rest of us catch up, we can work on these things without tears. Maybe next spring if Conman has another event, we can make the trek with all my info and build one there. Sorry this isn’t working out for the locals, but it’s just too annoying to have that keep happening. Every…single…time.

That’d be great, I forgot about Blackberry. I’m trying to input all my stuff now. I guess after that I do the emulator thing. I hope I can figure this stuff all out. Thanks!
Oh, how miserable! Thanks for the reminder to be careful. We’ve learned to wear long pants no matter the weather. No glory in another case of Lyme, and long pants helps with that…a bit.
Glad you’re doing better.
If you mean the BK king……that should definitely detract from any formula. That guy truly gives me the creeps!
I have no idea what our CAR would be, even with the original formula. All I can say is….we try. We speak the truth. And we have fun (most of the time)!
From one birder to another, congratulations!
Nice work, Brian! Congratulations.
That’s both a pretty hilarious cache and a funny log. Congratulations on bagging this one!
