Congratulations on another milestone!
Congratulations to you, Deb!

I’m with BigJim about the Rudolph cheese curds. I try them all, they’re still the best.
Thanks Johnny Cache for the great list. While we’ve done a little smattering of Milwaukee area caches, that looks like a great list of caches to visit some day. We tend to be more woods cachers, but a good list of great urban caches with cool things to see can’t be beat. I know when I cached there about a year ago, I really enjoyed Wehr Nature Reserve in Hales Corners and the caches along the nearby parkway.
I regret never getting to Inner City Surprise before it was archived.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the builder. I am being told my files…Larry’s and my beginning of my own…are not compatible with the version of Windows I’m running. That’s a new message in this whole scenario. My computer isn’t all that old. It’s running Vista.
I’d really like to set this up as a WIG, but I think all these different issues are a way of telling me I’m in over my head. I don’t understand, for instance, why the exact same program is now informing me it’s incompatible. It didn’t say that before.
We have 386 DNFs, often on the same cache. I’m with Ralph, if it’s the type of place or hide or whatever that doesn’t interest us, we might look briefly and walk away. The DNFs mean we looked like we wanted to find it. We’ve gotten much better at gracefully saying…..”We’ll never find them all, let’s move on and have fun.” As a general rule though, if we took the time to stop, we’ll take the time to look and log our miss if that’s the result.
Trekkin’ has a tendency to stick with certain ones I don’t think are fun. The locals know what those are. Heck, the COs know what they are! He’s on his own for those.
BTW, we have noted our DNF count right on our gc profile page.
We’ve been to Geobash in Indiana and Ohio. I looked for events when I was in Hawaii and Newfoundland for other things, but there weren’t any. I went to an event in the Northwest Angle of Minnesota over Labor Day weekend, and that’s a lot further than one would think. 405.6 miles as the crow flies.
It’s become more difficult the past year or so for us to just drop things and go somewhere overnight, so that factors in for us as well.
I believe grcarlson has been to an event in every state except Alaska.
Larry, I tried to open the sample one you sent me some time ago, but get the same message as when I try to open my partially built cartridge. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s something in my computer, as I know gls had that same file from you and obviously it helped him…he’s put together three of these now.
My brain is too fried after a full day teaching and then conferences tonight. I don’t know what I’d do if I had to finish this for some kind of final exam. Wait, I do! I’d drop out and find another line of work!
Yup. It doesn’t take long to befuddle me when it comes to this stuff. When parent conferences are over, I’m going to give it another shot, and if I still can’t make anything resembling sense of it, gls has generously offered some assistance. I don’t want someone to just do it for me, as I would like to learn how to build these, but I might need some guidance if I don’t make a bit more headway.
No, it’s not. I knew it was too good to be true….tried to open my saved cartridge and it says I can’t. Some big long error file. It let me save it, why can’t I open it back up?
Argh!
Thanks, I feel that what I have in mind should be solid. Also, it looks like the submission is now done through the regular gc site, not the ec site anymore, correct?
Clayton, Was it done the way others have suggested, with one of those recordable cards? If you have insight, pm me with the details. We had this inspirational flash and want to act on it soon!
I was wondering about that kind of thing. Hmmm. What someone has in mind would not be likely to be hunted in the winter, anyway. Just sayin.
Congratulations. We’re no where near close to finishing that one up. How ’bout some waterfalls? More fun road trips!
Congratulations on an impressive milestone. We’ve found one or two without the GPSr, but 400? Just shows that technology isn’t the be-all and end-all!
As for placing ’em…..two words. Letterbox hybrids. Some friend can give you starting coords and then you can do your magic!
Again, congrats! 😉
