I actually took a golf ball from one once. It wasn’t even dirty!
Otherwise, we’re sign and leave types too, but if Poohs Pal is along and there’s something age appropriate for him, we’ll let him trade. Like he even cares at this point!
Never a problem with us to replace wet logs and such. We do the same when we can. I don’t understand the adding of stuff that’s not needed. In one of these cases, it actually required a visit by us sooner, rather than being helpful.
Oh well. At least it tells us there are those who try to help, which is a good thing.
Congratulation to all four of you! I know you’d wanted that one, glad you could make it. (Our plans to get out there keep getting waylaid).
I looked for those upgrades Nate, I must have missed that. I’ll take a look like Barry said and see if I can find that option, too.
Not sure, the information on the instruction sheet says that the images can’t be uploaded from the camera to a Vista computer. I tried looking for updates that specifically address that problem without success.
Maybe the friendly folks at the photo specialty lab can help me with this one. I can’t be the only one who’s ever done this. Can I?
I just was heading here to congratulate them, having seen the recent log come through. We had looked for places where we could accomplish this and we’d have to travel halfway across the state. Our best that met the requirements was 23.
So a big huge congratulations to Pat and Mark! Hurray!
Thanks for the tips! That little grandson added a couple notches to his belt last night….Grandma and Grandpa!….so we’re getting a little later start than we’d wanted. When he went home, we were beat, so I had to load the units and stuff this morning. Looking forward to fun up nort!
I’ve got about ten solves on varying puzzles, and we wanted to try and get the stuff we had to miss when we couldn’t make it to Barnes. Hoping this still works out, between Trekkin’ killing himself running with his cross country kids tonight and no return call from the dog sitter (aka son), we’re kind of in limbo. But we’ll be sure to stop in. I am hoping for nice weather to do your night cache up there tomorrow night if all works out.
Looks like we’ll have to grab any available motel we can find. Figured the colors were filling the rooms there.
If I went there, the moose would be completely absent. Guaranteed.
Probably inaccessible now due to flooding, but we were caching east of Black River Falls on Monday and went down a back road to get one called Target. Absolutely gorgeous and I didn’t have the camera.
Cool to have an insider’s story on this, thanks for dropping in.
I haven’t read any of these, but have thought the P & P one sounded pretty funny and will get to it eventually. Like someone said, bound to be more fun than the original. Trekkin’ and I are both avid readers, and I was shocked to discover this statistic shared in a book I just read, The Empire of Illusion.
According to the sources cited in his footnotes, in 2007, 80% of American families did not buy or read ONE book. I’m sure the stats were skewed to achieve the author’s purpose, but even if scaled back, that’s still scary and to us, a bit incomprehensible. Wow!
We managed to physically find 6 of the slugs, and that involved some planned travel and the like. Sometimes I’d find one had moved by the time I got there, which is also part of the game. Some had already gone missing by that time, and a couple, I contacted the holders, who did find them and get them back out after sharing the codes. The missing ones I managed to haggle with others who had found them before they went missing.
I know bandits’ intent in placing this series was indeed to see how well the caching community could work together to gather what’s needed to find the first one in this series. It’s a fun and creative series all the way around, and I know we’re glad that when they archived a lot of their things a couple years ago, this didn’t fall in the process. The current interest shows it’s a well done series.
Congratulations on one of those milestone milestones.
Congratulations on another milestone!
