Thanks for organizing this. I hope to participate…then head to the riding stable nearby to go horseback riding.
Trekkin’ decided to get a smartphone. I want no part of it. But…it’s an android platform and he’s interested in knowing which geocaching app others like for it. Thanks for your input.
I think about the only thing the Frog has listened to is the request to somehow bring back virtuals. And even that created a peeing and moaning match for some folks, who thought *they* should get one. I’m just happy to have a few more of them around to enjoy, whoever sets them up!
We’ve been at this since mid-2006, so I have many years upon which to base my “only” assessment. 😉
Since aging dog issues make any travel together a challenge right now, we hosted our own event on Saturday. More people showed up than we’d expected and many of us enjoyed a little hike along the LaCrosse River afterwards. The souvenirs aren’t such a big deal for us as they once were, but because I’ve been to Australia, I wanted to get this one. So far, of these Signal things, I’ve been to each of the countries featured.
And it came! I have a nice scope for birding at long last!
Patiently awaiting the arrival of “Brown” at our door.
I hate when that happens. We used to be able to delete one when it happened, but I couldn’t figure out how to do that.
Only just now the rain turned to snow. I wish it had just snowed from the beginning. There is literally a lake in our back and side yards that will become ice under it all. Ugh!
We’ve had rain. We could now go fishing in our backyard. I hope the sun comes out at some point to dry it all out before any snow does come along. Yuck!
Good luck. We have stopped putting caches out and have begun to archive most if issues arise. Most of ours are hikes in the woods, but those rarely get visits, in spite of what everyone says about their preferences. The p/gs that aren’t puzzles get the most action, and even then, once there’s a FTF, they rarely see any activity. I honestly think other games and leisure time activities have begun to take precedence for a lot of folks. I know that’s true for us personally. Mostly we just look when we’re going somewhere and we look for hikes, ECs and virtuals and skip most of the other stuff. We can hike around here any time we want, and always discover something new when we do. No need to travel all over to add to our already bloated find count, LOL
“Believe it or not, there are worse places out there actively for rent in Green Bay, and I’m sure in other cities as well.”
Oh, I know that’s true, but it still blows me away that a place like that doesn’t get shut down. People are paying for safe rentals and they’re in no way safe.
The second Habitat home I’ve helped build is finished and the new owner is really excited about getting the keys in a couple weeks. My gosh, where she’s renting now, she’s had pipes burst in the basement, mold, mice eating the hoses in her oven (which she just doesn’t use anymore) and a ceiling threatening to fall in the bathroom. Poor gal can’t wait, and I don’t blame her! The third house is coming along nicely, too. We have a party in a little bit to say goodbye to the construction specialist who got a new job.
Feverish Portage County Summer Evening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktFqfc25Iqg in reply to T&B influenza dream…………….after 10 days of jungle fever from this end.
Loved their music, but that poor guy was a mess. Hope you’re feeling better.
I had a geocaching dream the other night. In my dream, I had created a second account, got a few finds, then hosted an event that nobody showed up to.
My dream this morning wasn’t anything to do with geocaching, but somehow, Jim Morrison was alive again in the present time and I was his manager to try and get his career going again. It was….a challenge. And really bizarre.
No idea where in the world that all came from. Probably influenza!
And now it’s snowing in Minneapolis again. Heading down shortly to meet Dad whenever the mobility van drops him off from dialysis. Hope there aren’t any of the many spinouts and slideoffs they’ve been getting here. It’s only a couple miles down the road, thankfully. Today was warmer, I guess, but it looks much windier, too. I haven’t been outside, so I’m no judge.
I’m not even looking to see the low temps here in Minneapolis. I managed to get the souvenir finds yesterday and today, and let me tell you, even a p/g is ridiculous in this weather. And I was dressed for it. What a goofy hobby! Happy (cold) New Year!
