Spider Island is an awesome milestone choice, we did that one last summer on a misty morning. Congratulations on a new milestone, Helidood!
Congratulation to Rob and Karen. It was a perfect weekend to be out, even better for milestones!
Congratulations Pete….what a wonderful milestone choice indeed.
He’s in the LaCrosse area right now. There was a nice feature about him on the local news last night.
Congratulations! One I’ve had solved for a long time, but still need to enjoy the actual hunt for the plunder.
I’ve seen them with the smiley playing a weeping violin.
Have some photos from the CampOut to process. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow you’ll see something different there.
I know we’ve walked 7-10 miles for a single smiley a few times. And then there’s the time we tried the first time to get a tough one near Faribault MN, whiffed on it, then started walking along the Sakatah Lake trail, finding one cache after the other, ending up at the state park, getting the coordinates there for the challenge cache and a couple others, then heading back to where we’d parked. The trail markers showed we’d walked almost ten miles out…and of course back again. Nuts!
We like to walk, hike, bike and paddle. What can I say? It would be interesting to see how much ground we cover on some of the days where we think we aren’t walking all that much, because like someone said, all those short hikes add up over a day’s time. It’s always great to walk or bike more and limit the trips in and out of the car when we can.
The noise is what always gets me….like fingernails on a chalkboard! We actually did find the first one of these we encountered, our very first time, as relatively new cachers. I still don’t know how we knew to look there, but we did. Interestingly enough, it was a drhaas hide, and having cached more than a few times with them, we know how much Donna loves these!
Not our favorites, we’d rather be in the woods, but like someone said, sometimes it’s nice to find an easy one….especially at the end of a long day. There’s a multitude of ways to play, which is one of the beauties of this game.
Congratulations on an epic run to 2k, Rich!
You guys crack me up with your milestones. Congratulations on a funny one!
That’s great to hear. Sometimes getting that personal touch is what it takes, thanks for sharing yours! 😉
