No GIFF event for us..closest is a couple hours one way and the weather’s lousy. Probably a blessing in disguise…our old dog rebounded, but now her ability to “hold it” is failing and we need to be around to try and get her outside. Two accidents already today. Doggie diapers don’t stay on her. She still wants to do dog stuff, though. Sad situation.
Debby, It has been slow for me on the computer (Chrome) and the iPad it’s even worse. The iPad, besides being even slower, won’t save my login and wants me to jump those hoops, too. It has been this way for quite some time and I often just walk away rather than wait and wait and wait to stop in. Too bad.
We’re actually combining a day at Halloween Hoopla with a visit to my parents. We’ve been so busy with stuff on the other side of the family that we haven’t seen mine since June 4. Enjoy the events this weekend, whatever they might be, caching or not!
No, we didn’t. Our focus was on the wedding, and traveling that route so often anyway, we’ve found pretty much anything along the way that’s grabbed our attention.
Hopefully today we’ll stop living like we have for a week and half here. Paint the living room, which required serious patching because it’s lath and plaster. Then, we might as well get the paint drips off the woodwork from old paint jobs. And give the woodwork a nice coat with stain to fill in scratches. Now I dust, clean the wood floors and hopefully we can get a few pieces of furniture back in there tonight!
We took a break on Saturday for Mr. Timberline Echoes’s daughter’s wedding in Tomahawk. Nice reason for a break, even if it meant six hours in the Forester that day!
Hopefully the photo attaches so you can laugh at life at Trekkin’ and Birdin’s. At least all the newspaper was down when that photo was taken. We had to navigate through newspaper curtains most of the week!

The state bird? Yeah, the ones around here aren’t a whole lot better than the ticks…some carry encephalitis. We’ve avoided any of that, so maybe they aren’t as rampant with disease as these stupid ticks.
Woke up yesterday morning with a big red bullseye on my chest…doctor gave me a two week supply of an antibiotic this morning. This is my second go around with Lymes. And it wasn’t even caching related. Oh ugh. Good luck. Trekkin’ is a three time survivor of that crap. It was only on the third infection that he showed the bullseye. Rotten ticks. I swear, they are not even useful in the natural world food chain. Well, except maybe for possums. Even those guys just eat them because they don’t want Lyme, either.
I’m trying to decide if I should take my eyes that look like I’m on something (dilated for the eye exam this morning) and go see about getting some new specs. My coach turns into a pumpkin around 3:15, when the grands show up after school.
Then again, maybe Grand daughter Fashionista should come with me to help choose. Naw. I’d end up with sparkly cat eye frames with her along. Already did that. When I was about……7.
I saw that stuff showing up. It’s a little out of our notification range, but I was looking at the new EC and an event in the area next month. Congrats Jim!
Doesn’t it just figure? Exactly one week ago, we crossed Duluth’s Aerial Bridge after my uncle’s memorial. Today….a new virtual published with the bridge being the subject. My timing, as always, is impeccable! *eye roll*
Wow, what a great experience! Especially after all the delays. Thanks for sharing those.
Just got back from attending Trekkin’s niece’s baby shower at his sister’s place in Rhinelander. They’re having twins. First time parents, almost 40. She looks great, if a bit large! 😉 Nice to get together with family. Lots of that kind of thing in the next few weeks. Couple more weddings and who knows what else?
After throwing atlatls at the buffalo jump in Wyoming, Trekkin’s looking at buying a couple. Is there a hunting season for those? [;)] Kind of like archery!
Good luck….he just does muzzle loader season and hasn’t done turkey in ages.
We keep it pretty local and enjoy a home brewfest in our area every year. It’s become an annual tradition. Last year the organizers commented that “Oh, you’re that fun group!” We have a couple of nice craft breweries in town that are fun to visit, too.
We’ve been slowly getting our wine tour books for the state stamped when we get near one. That’s fun to do, too. So far our absolute favorite winery discovered this way is actually across the river in Marquette Iowa. Eagle’s Landing.
