Congratulations on getting there by year’s end. Heck, by any time!
01/01/2010 at 9:24 pm in reply to: Need help from someone who actually understands computer cod #1917710Thanks to the various people who gave me nudges and ideas, I finally figured this one out. Now to find a time to make the trip to find it and others in that area.
Sometimes….most of the time….I make these things FAR more difficult than needed.
Thanks everyone. We keep having fun and exploring all the nooks and crannies of new location…. and tree trunks!
Trekkin’ was saying “we’ve kayaked there, we hiked there, we have all the caches up there, but if zuma goes……I’ll go, I enjoy his company.”
HA!!!!!!! I am holding him to this, and I didn’t even have to bribe Ralph….it just happened!
Ralph, you cannot imagine how big my smile was when I saw your post here…..you dinged him again! 😉
Congratulations. Great way to sink that milestone, too.
Congratulations on enjoying the hobby as a whole family group. Loved the photo in the falling snow, what great memories that will stir for them in the years to come!
I’ve been looking at that series. After breaking trails and digging up caches in Rochester MN yesterday with KSpud and zuma so that everyone else can find them more quickly, maybe we need to take advantage of all your hard work!
*Placing a cache in honor of our first grandson along the LaCrosse River.
Most of the rest pales in comparison to that milestone event, but we hit 5000 at the Beast of Big Island in August, joined the fun at Marsh to the Phillippines with a great group of people and met lots of folks at lots of events around the state and beyond. We surely got lots of numbers, but as always, the snowshoing, canoeing or kayaking or hikes into remote spots are what remain memorable and why we keep playing.
Birdin’ would add experiencing what geocaching can truly be by choosing special caches to visit on Oahu that took us to places even most locals didn’t know, and being granted the trust of the WGA membership when elected to serve on the Board.
We’ve sea kayaked in those caves and hiked up above in the fall. I’d love to see them in the winter. Hopefully we can join in the fun. I know the parking suggested in the cache listing is adequate, but there might be a lot of extra activity with respect to the cooking part. There is one weekend when there is some kind of race out to the islands, so we’d probably want to avoid that one.
St. Peters Dome would be awesome, too. We’ve also done the IAT loop. This thread shows there is so much to be seen in this state. It’s also great to see so much interest in outings like this that have nothing to do with numbers.
Here’s the statement that got me…..”elderly couple?”
They’re 65 and 67!!!! Not elderly!!!
Seriously, interesting article and glad to hear they were found and safe.
I’ll see if doing something like this helps. I went through the help thing within GSAK and I must be missing something. I used to be able to do this from right within my GSAK PQ.
Aren’t there some in the Mead Wildlife Area? I also saw some that jenhen did the other day over near Rice Lake…..a three mile snowshoe along the IAT over there. Hemlock Dam or something like that.
We’d be up for this, weather permitting of course.
Saddle Mound on snowshoes? No way! Well, maybe, but make sure you have claws on them. We did it in the fall.
This is one that has had me intrigued and looks like it’s better in winter
Beaver Land GCQFJEWet Maze GCB9A8 Marc brought this one to my attention the other day in his “watching” thread.
For science class, development of an EarthCache.
For art class, creation of a letterbox stamp!Too funny! It’s tough enough without having to track down the original content.
Wow, how cool is that? I’d have to say….big cats!
