Ours is a good 15 inches deep here. Still coming down, blowing has begun.
They even closed Volk Field. the guard airbase by Camp Douglas. For regular stuff, Trekkin’ likes to joke that back home, they’d take a broom to this stuff, but for this kind of snowfall……yup, the blower is going. We have a corner lot, so lots of sidewalk to clear.
Oh great….so Trekkin’ manages to skip a year getting Lyme (he’s been hit three times with that) and now he has something new to expect?
Thanks for the heads up. Do the researchers hypothesize that these non-endemic diseases may be the result of travel by humans, bringing the buggers back here?

12/08/2009 at 10:52 pm in reply to: Vtwinspin has been hooked on caching for three years today #1917823He he, congratulations……we think! You know there are moments when we wish you’d never found a GPSr, but then again, all those nasty hides are still finds, LOL.
Seriously, congrats!
Congratulations! Holy Milestone!
Congratulations, that looks like a fun one to do.
Congratulations on the double K!
Actually, winter is sometimes the best time for some of these toughies, as long as you have snowshoes. A big group of us did “Marsh to the Phillippines” last January and had a blast. “Eagle Source” near Three Lakes is another good example.
Way I see it, the shortened days make numbers less likely anyway, if that’s what we want. So do some of the adventures instead!
If life agrees with us during the break, we might be up for the Battleship series. Trekkin’ already found about 43 of them caching there last month.
Have not plotted out the hits and misses on a chart yet, though.Tnanks Nate. I looked at all those fields last night and somehow didn’t see it right there in front of me.
However, I question if we should pursue such a challenge. I mean, we do try and maintain balance in life and our interests, and qualifying for one like this might push us over the edge!
Marc, you’re ahead of us in finds, too. Plus probably puzzle finds. I know your birding life list is way better than mine, but I guess when a person lives in Arizona for awhile, they have an advantage there!
I’d hoped to travel as far as Spring Green after work tomorrow for my storytelling gig in Monroe on Thursday. Given the predicted conditions, looks like I’ll have to skip caching for fun and leave here early Thursday, heading straight to my gig.
In principle, I enjoy the snow for x-c skiing (never happier) and snowshoing, but don’t like when it messes with my plans for travel!
Thanks, I was just curious about this. I guess there are some challenges out there that require a cache a day (not the same year). Looks like we missed a couple opportunities recently. 337 out of 366 so far.

Seriously! For those not familiar with KB cache listings, he generally provides only a little info. No hints, just the bare minimum.
And in this case, a comment to “ask whoever gave you the solves for your 100 mystery finds!”
This is the listing….GC18B71
