Awesome work, Dennis and Lisa! Thanks so much for volunteering your time and talents!
Alex, If it helps, take a look at our EarthCache for Effigy Mounds. I managed to write it so that the geology was the feature, but also managed to highlight the mounds.
I do know that they are getting much more stringent about EarthCache listings, too. Gary, I’m glad to see so many stepping up to help you out. These are all great EarthCaches and it would be a shame to see any of them go. Since so many are already making the offer, I’ll just watch to see who gets lucky!
Every yawningdog cache we’ve ever done is a true favorite.
The WGA will be contributing some good prizes…..gas cards again and maybe a few other fun things worth hanging around to win.
I’ve received a couple other raffle donations, but ask again….if you have something you can offer, please let me know. The more prizes we have, the more people can win. Personal coins, cache containers, swag bags, kids things, caching tools…..the sky’s the limit!
I’m hoping to follow gotta run’s lead and offer a letterbox hybrid to go. A win/win situation….the winner gets a cache to place, and I get another letterbox hybrid to find, LOL.
Be creative, put your thinking caps on and contact me to arrange drop off at the campout THIS WEEKEND!!!
Congratulations on your milestone. I enjoyed that same cache about a year ago, only in the wintertime. Nice one!
Way to go, Alex. Along with everyone else, we’ve enjoyed and at times torn out our hair to find some of your hides. Since we recently did the one that marked your 100th, and are working on solving the one for your 50th, I’m curious……what did you do for this landmark?
Or do we even want to know, LOL?
Again, thanks for giving back to the community in so many ways.
Cool idea for a prize. Maybe I can create something like this for the raffle at the campout, too.
You know whoever wins it and places it, we’ll eventually go hunt it!
Really? It must have been enabled the very end of April, as I set up my route the day or two before. Thanks!
Congratulations, you’re closing in on the 25K one!
Congratulations on what I heard was a great event. We’d hoped to be there ourselves, but we had a homeowner’s nightmare to address that day.
Although it would be great if these parks never got messed up, it’s great that folks like GMO are willing to put in the work to organize such a successful event! Hurray!
Thanks to Dave and Jeremy for all the effort involved in making this game work.
Maybe it’s right in front of my eyes, but when trying to submit a report for GCG20D The Rocks, I can’t find it. It’s on the list and the bookmark on the cache listing shows it, too.
Are my eyes that bad already?
Thanks!
Thank you so much for encouraging positive thinking! I also refrained from comments on that thread, because no matter how annoyed I might find myself in a given caching situation, I’m grateful for the efforts of anyone who puts things out so we can all play!
I’m grateful for those who log DNFs on our caches so we know there might be a problem.
I’m grateful for all the fun people I’ve met through the sport.
I’m grateful for some really incredible experiences in amazing locations I’d never have found if not for hunting these things down.
I’m extremely grateful to the many local folks who came out last weekend to help place caches for the upcoming picnic. That was really wonderful local participation, something all of us attending have the chance to enjoy.
And I KNOW I’ll be grateful for all the other wonderful cachers who will help with picking up all those temps on Sunday before we all leave! 😀
If you’re willing to show your appreciation for the hard work others did to get them out for all to enjoy, just find me at the campout for your assignments on Sunday!Congratulations, and nice to have met you along the way to your milestone the other day!
There are three caches near Madison by 08rocklady. I got two of them on Friday.
Just need 1 and 9 now. I can get those on my next trip to Minneapolis, although I did find one 1 near DePere, 1mysticalyf.
I went ahead and nominated a cache that falls into the category of “won’t have a chance of winning.” GCTVZH “Cache with a View.” It’s west of Lone Rock, not a quick search by any means, and not in an area with many cachers or caches (although GR8 Eyes has recently helped increase the caching potential in the area).
It’s a great “old school” cache; a challenge to get to, in an area not well known, with an incredible view at the top. I realized that at least by nominating it, it will get the honorable mention. I have done several in the far north that would be in the same vein
My personal opinion of the importance of COTM I will keep to myself.
